Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum follows the standard set by Goa University. Though MBBS is a very hectic and rigorous course. There are in total of nine semesters. The subjects are distinguished into different parts. We have an end semester which is a subjective exam followed by a practical exam.
Placement Experience
There are not much placement opportunities for MBBS students. Nonetheless, we have to do a compulsory internship of eight to ten months after completing our final semester. The stipend offered during the internship is roughly ?16000 per month.
College Events
The university holds recreational events and encourages us to attend medical school campuses during open house etc. The university also holds other cultural events to develop interactive, organisational and cultural strengths in students.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Goa medical college is a part of Goa University. MBBS is an expensive degree. With a duration of five long years, with paying fees of ?1.12 lakh per year. The total fees come to ?5,62,000. The other category of students has to pay half of the total fees.
Campus Life
The student's involvement in extracurricular activities was good. Also, community service and volunteering event would take place now and then. Plexus: event was organised every year, where students, as well as faculty, would participate as well as all the affiliated colleges.
Admission
For admission into Goa Medical College, I had to give NEET entrance exam. I even had a counselling session before my admission. Based on my score and merit list I secured admission in GMCH. The college also provides relaxation to the SC/ST candidates.
Faculty
The faculty are all experienced doctors and clinic staff, they treat the patients in the hospital and also teach us the same way. As we were studying under such knowledgeable and experienced staff, the learning we got also made us industry-ready.
