Goa Medical College and Hospital is one of the oldest medical college in India well known for the quality of education it provides. The college is very well reputed and has students and patients from all around the country for its renowned facilities.
Course Curriculum Overview
Goa Medical College and Hospital provides courses in the medical and paramedic courses, in broad specialty and super specialty. The course curriculum is structured by the Goa University and adheres to the latest developments and an end-to-end in the field of medicine.
Placement Experience
Being a medical college, it provides internship after completion of final year MBBS which is essential for graduating. The stipend for internship is around Rs 15000 per month, for a year. The internship gives an overall experience to the students of all departments.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is quite feasible considering it being a medical college. The fees differ for General category students and for SC/ST/OBC students. Fees are collected every 6 months and currently, it is about Rs 50,000 per semester.
Campus Life
Various extracurricular activities organised by the college include inter semester sports meet, various competitions of art and culture during various festivals , Annual day, Medical ball, etc. The laboratories in the college are pretty well maintained and well equipped
Hostel Facilities
The hostels are undergoing renovation and will be looking brand new soon. The college management is hoping for all new facilities in the hostel. Currently, the college has all basic amenities that one needs.
Admission
The Goa Medical College takes admission on the basis of the National entrance eligibility test (NEET) and then the selection is done on merit. Goa State government has about 85% seats for the domicile population of Goa and rest 15% is for all India students.
