Khalsa College's stars

Khalsa college is a very good college. The infrastructure of the college and building style is unique. Teachers here are very professional and dedicated to students. They listen to our all queries and help us with every possible means. Other than studies college also have may extracurricular activities like sports, cultural activities, etc. Gidda and Bhangra of this College are very famous and almost on every youth fest, our college got many awards. The principal of the college is also very friendly and guide us thoroughly. There is also a placement cell in the college. There are a number of canteens in the college. The admission procedure is very simple. I preferred this college over others because the teachers here are very nice and friendly and also M.Sc. Botany is present in this college or in GNDU. The admission process is very simple either with merit or through the entrance exam. If u are having a thought to take admission in this college, I advise u to go without thinking anything further.

I choose this course as I am very interested in studying plants. The faculty of the department is very professional and also friendly in nature. The faculty to student ratio is good. There are around 7 permanent teachers and head of the department and 5 contractual teachers. The teachers are well educated. They have done P.hd., M.Sc., M.phil, etc and some of them have also been to foreign countries. Our exams were conducted on time as for odd semesters house tests in September and finals in November-December. And for even semesters house test in march - April and finals in May. The difficulty of the exam depending on how difficult is the subject and how much u can acknowledge. I got 86 percent in my 1st sem.

I know little about these as I am a botany student. Many internships are provided on monster.india for Khalsa college like HR internship, etc.

There are also campus placements. From 3 or 4 I .e.final semester u can become eligible for campus placements. Many companies visit our college like Wipro. , Etc the package are lakhs per year. Many students got placed in different companies. I am planning to be a teacher.

The fee we have to pay in installments. One installment during admission time for the first semester and 2nd installment for 2nd semester we pay before the final exams of the first semester. The scholarships, financial assistance is available for needy students and those who do well in studies. As I was the topper of my class in the 1st and 2nd semester, almost half the fee got concessioned of the 3rd semester as I got 16000 back from 35000. You can get a job here by clearing the UGC NET exam.

The annual fest is youth fest around august September. The college is very active in cultural activities, sports, educational seminars. There is always a book fair for almost 5 days each year during our even semester. There is a main library having many books and journals and also every department has a different library of itself. Overall if I say college has everything and we enjoy it there along with studies. Many seminars and workshops are also conducted by respective departments.

My admission was on the basis of merit. Our head of the department took our interview. As I was a little late for admission, our HOD took my interview and asked very simple questions about me and my studies like my name, my percentage in graduation, etc. Before my admission, two counsellings were being held for admission into the course.
