RPET (Rajasthan Pre Engineering College), Rank-27 The reason I opted is because NIT Warangal is considered better than MNIT Jaipur.
Internships Opportunities
Till the year 2005, there was no policy or infrastructure to invite the companies for mid-semester projects internships. The students used to apply for internship on their own.
Placement Experience
The campus placement during 2004/5 was excellent. I was offered by IBM for the role of software engineering. Companies visited are, National semiconductor, Pexonet, Alliance semicondutorsIBM, TCS, Infosys, Wipro, CSC, De Shaw etc.
College Events
Springs Spree (2001) : It was a culture event. Sanket : It was an electronics and communication branch event to invite papers and innovative ECE ideas. Abhivyakti: A general event conducted by civil engineering.
Fee Structure And Facilities
I am not sure for the current fee structure. It was not a costly college till 2001-2005. The government (MHRD) bears the most of the expanses. It costed around 8k per semester to me.
Fees and Financial Aid
The college offers scholarships to the students that stands in the top-N ranking in the first year. I can't fully recall but scholarship to the students below poverty level was also provided.
Campus Life
VLSI lab was nice and among the few labs across all the engineering colleges in India.Labs were equipped with a combination of old and new equipment. Above average. The reputation of the college in the companies is high.The college earlier had a state quota that used to introduce a slight regionalism. With AIEEE, I believe that should have gone.
Hostel Facilities
This was the first regional engineering college so the hostels were too old. Being a vegetarian, I personally didn't like the Veg Mess their for the reason that I was not used to south indian food (rice). The quality of north Indian food was slightly below average. The non-Veg Mess was said to be nice. By the time we left, both the hostels and Mess were heard to be improved a lot.
Alumni/Alumna
The college has an alumina list with a lot of students working in different organizations and hold influential positions. I am quite skeptical in how much the college is receiving help from the alumini network in terms of financial support.
Exam Structure
The overall duration is 4 years. The first year was common to all branches just to give an opportunity to bright students to change the branch based on their year end ranking.Six semesters.
Faculty
The college was known to its faculty for the electronics and communication branch. Multiple teachers of the faculty are at the level of professors and assistant professors. The branch is known for an extensive VLSI lab
