If you manage to gain admission into NIT Raipur, be sure that your life is gonna change for the better. The things that you will experience here shall make you a better person then you were. This institute is gonna set you for life, and after you are done here, you gain respect and a good job, which is what every one of us wants.
Entrance Preview
JEE MAINS(124 out of 360), JEE ADVANCED, CGPET. Took Biotechnology as a course because i am interested in research work, which is quite abundant i this field. Also since this is "NIT" we are talking about, it has a reputation. So it was placed quite high in my priority list also Raipur being my hometown added to the fact that i opted for this college.
Course Curriculum Overview
Overall the course curriculum is well balanced with proper stress laid on both theory and practical work. The curriculum includes personality development and yoga etc which is an added benefit of being in such an institute, guest lectures by renowned people which are quite frequent in the institute gives a definite boost up required.
Internships Opportunities
Although I havent have experienced the Internship process (which normally occurs during the second year) from what i have heard from my seniors, the internship process is quite good and fun. Many big companies come here and the stipend offered is quite generous mostly being 7000- 9000 per month.
Placement Experience
If you have to define NITs from their one benefit, it is the placement process. The placement here is quite good,which goes for all major NITs. The average package offered in all branches range fom 4lk to 4.5 lks per annum with Mechanical Engineering and Mining being the top paid branches. The campus has almost 100% placement record and alumni in all major companies. Sadly Biotech and Bio Medical are not quite well in the placement department.
Fees and Financial Aid
Being an NIT,scolarships and loans are easy to avail here. Many loans are offered by various banks that help the financially weaker students to countinue their study.
Campus Life
Campus life is good. Ragging is strictly prohibited although this rule is not strictly followed. Many activities are conducted by various commities which makes the place fun. There is no such issue as intolerence with regards to gender or ethinicity etc, though people tend to roam in groups, which are tough to vade through .
