The college is best to study and explore the marine life with the best faculty along with the best exposure. It builds a professional on an all-rounder front. I would always cherish the moments and teachings i got from this college.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is stress free and relaxing, the course is 2 years long and we have 4-5 subjects per semester. The internals and externals are taken semester wise along with the practicals. Frequent visits to beaches and working is shown with the excursion trips. Presentations and viva is taken to know the knowledge of students.
Placement Experience
The placements are organised by the college at the end of 3rd year, although its recommended to study further in masters for the further qualification as Bio expert in oceanography. Pay is not that high at the Msc's level. We can work in government related sectors for a stable job. Hence the scope for the division is high as far as you can study.
College Events
All kinds of cultural, National Holidays, sports day, annual day events are celebrated at our institute. Students from different backgrounds take part in these and we get to know each other well, sense of secularism is felt all over.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fees is paid yearly either by offline methods like DD or cheques or by online methods like debit/credit cards payment. The first year fees are INR 50,000 and for the total course around INR 1lakh. This does not include hostel fees or excursion trips.
Fees and Financial Aid
The scholarship is provided on the basis of merit. If a student secures more than 85% on their entrance exam, the concession in fees is made, we have to maintain the scholarship by maintaining 85% marks in the first year with 85% above attendance. Fees is reduced around 10-15%, and the students are awarded at the ceremonies.
Campus Life
The college campus is nicely constructed and has all kinds of facilities. The libraries and labs are maintained with every latest technology. The professional equipment needed in marine life is available and we are taught about them, their functioning and study.
Alumni/Alumna
The alumni meet happens once a year and we get the chance to interact with our ex-seniors, which enables us to know their experience and journey. They are all very humble and polite and guides us in various situations.
Admission
I gave the entrance exam UGC-NET/JRF and applied to the college via their official website. The application can be submitted online with the required documents and academic certificates. Further they called for the counselling session and i was interviewed for the msc course in Biology oceanography, further the fees for first year was submitted.
Faculty
The faculty at the college is very helpful and polite, They are all scholars and mostly PHD Holder staff who have vast experience in their fields. They often guide us and help us with our project work.
