Vaibhav's Review On Translational Health Science And Technology Institute - [THSTI], Faridabad

This institute is an autonomous one under the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science, Govt. of India. The institute is built to avail various research opportunities to the young budding minds in this nation.

The training program duration is of minimum 4 months to a maximum of 6 months. You can also try for a 8 week training, but the 4 months lab training is essential to get a certificate. The institute allows to use the various facilities available there under the guidance of academic committee members. The valuable lab equipments can be used only if there is any need and if you really need to do analysis.

We have a placement team to guide the students and get placed in various fields of research. However, since the most students come here for research projects or for Ph.D. programs, they prefer to continue with their career.

We have so much of seminars and workshops taking place regularly in the campus. The each are of research, while it achieves a new perspective in it's way, the outcome is such workshops and invited talks. Areas like maternal & child health, immunology, transitional research are the main roots for all these events.

The fees for the Short-term Training Program is ?.10,000/-. This amount if for PG students. The fees for UG students is ?.5,000/-. But it differs from students of publicly funded and private colleges. There is also a fee waiver of about more than 50% for SC/ST students.

There are various committees in the institute. We have committed for sports, RTI act, biosafety, student welfare, grievance redressal, ecological science, complaints and many more. All these committee are built with faculties to look after the needs for the students.

There is hostel facility in the campus. But we have to apply for it separately. Since I joined there for the STTP in December, I couldn't find any room in the hostel. So I arranged for the accommodation outside the campus on my own. But the food facilities in the mess and canteen are so good and the food prepared is so healthy.

I'm a PG student from a UGC funded college in TamilNadu. I applied for Short-term training program in THSTI. You can apply at anytime, throughout the year. I applied requesting for this training program through E-mail. The E-mail should be sent directly to the supervisor of THSTI. The important thing is that you should attach your update resume and a recommendation letter from the Head of your department. The eligibility for this program for a PG student is a UG degree in any stream of life sciences.

We have a lot of faculty in the institute. They range form assistant professor to JRF, senior research scientist, scientist C, scientist E, adjunct faculty, honorary visiting faculties, etc. All of them are highly exposed to the art of handling the training programs and conducting researches. This institute is framed for the various research projects.
