Great college

IIT Delhi gives immense opportunity to learn not only in academics but also in other life skills. There is good infrastructure support for every field of learning. It provides a holistic growth for students.

Admission is only through IIT JEE. I do not remember the score I got.It is one of the best engineering institutes in India plus it is located in my home town.

I went to Vam Organics (now Jubilant) for summer internship. They provided free food and stay. Stipend offered was sufficient to cover overhead expenses.

There were several good companies for placement. MNCs, PSUs, Indian companies. Packages offered were best in the industry. HLL, P&G, SAIL, Infosys etc.

Several cultural and technical events were organized like Rendezvous, Tryst. Guest talks were also organized to provide motivation and industry knowledge.

Fees was around Rs 400 per semester. These days it is around Rs 1, 00, 000 per semester which is mostly tuition fee + campus maintenance. There is also a security deposit of Rs 5000 which is refundable.

There were scholarships for EWS students. Loan facility should also be there but since I am not sure.

There was enough opportunity and facilities for extra curricular activities. Sports, theater, robotics, mechanical lab. All facilities were of high quality.

Hostel rooms are small and on twin sharing basis for first two years. third year onward you get a single room. Usually there is a single bed, table, chair, book shelf, wardrobe per person in the room. There is laundary, mess, TT table, carom, common room, cycle/bike parking and a lawn in the hostel.

IIT Delhi alumni network is very wide spread and organized. There are annual GBMs and cultural programs. Several events (technical and networking) are organized by IIT Alumni from time to time.

There were 2 minors and one major in each course per semester. Apart from that there used to be 2-3 quizzes. There used to be some time available for pursuing hobbies.

The faculty was excellent. All the professors were well qualified and experienced. They were also connected to the industry to get an insight on the current expectations and requirement from the industry.
