CAT Score - 98.1 PercentileHad to take a Group Discussion and Interview to get selected. Too many people in the group compared to other colleges (~20)Took the college mainly due to its location and reputation.
Course Curriculum Overview
Very theoretical for the most part. Especially the Finance and Operations Management Subjects were grossly outdated and too theoretical to be of much use in the real world.
Internships Opportunities
Few companies if any offered stipend for my college students. Stipends offered ranged from 2000 to a max of 10, 000 a month. But most of the internship offers were sales related jobs involving mostly cold calling. I got an internship through one of my relatives and got a good mentor, who made sure I was rotated through all the verticals so that I would have an opportunity to learn and understand the connectivity.
Placement Experience
Placements were little tough during the period of my course. But still we had decent placements for the most part.About 50% of the students got placed through the college during the course period with a salary range of 4.2-10.8 lakhs per annum.
College Events
We had one cultural event every year, mostly organised by the students of various clubs. The name escapes my mind.We had one intra college sport event every year called NCL, which was the largest event in our college and went on for over 45 days. We had Finance and HR Conclaves and Nirma Annual Managment Conclave, which is the largest management fest every year. Students and faculty from many institutes from Ahmedabad, Pune, Mumbai, etc. apart from few faculty friends from abroad.
Fees and Financial Aid
There was one sponsorship offered to students of low income parents. Since I did not avail it I have no knowledge about itI took an education loan from a bank for my studies.
Campus Life
The members of various clubs and other students took it to themselves to organise multiple events, including celebration of various holidays and cultural and sports events. The whole class got tegether to celebrate people's birthdays and had parties for special events. There were no biases in this regard.
Alumni/Alumna
We have a very good network in place for the networking of the alumni and current students frequently call us and mail us to keep us abreast of events in the college and alumni association activities.
Exam Structure
We had a trimester pattern and two term exams per term. As a result we had 6 exams in a period of 9 months which was really taxing. Before we could recover from the stress and marks and grades of one exam the next one would start. Sometimes we would even get the scores of one exam after the next one due to lack of sufficient time between the two for the faculty.
Faculty
Faculty were mostly very knowledgeable but were unwilling to delve into anything that was not part of the curriculum. Faculty actually bought in real world examples to help us connect between the lesson and everyday events.
