Now our college has a student elected body so the decisions and the amendments in the rules are made with the consent of the students. So, i am very happy with the college proceedings.

AIEEE score 213/360 air rank 10390, i opted for nit surat for its excellence in mechanical engineering.

Curriculum for almost all nits is the same. Electives included applied thermodynamics, Theory of elasticity, Engineeering management, Industrial engineering, Disaster managemnet cryogenics, Production management, total quality management , petroleum refinery, corrosion etc.

Some meritorious students get internships provided by our alumni and by the companies that visit our campus for recruitment. Since we are undergrads stipends are not generally for many. Core profile internships or projects rarely get any stipend while non core interns get a stipend ranging from 2000-10000 inr.

Placement record of nit surat is fine. 90% of the eligible students get placed and 20-30 % get doble or triple placed. our major recruiters are maruti, musigma, futures first, hdfc, airtel, honda, schneider electric, general motors & many more.

SVNIT celebrates mindbend (technical fest) , sparsh (techno-managerial fest), ignis (sports fest) & many more departmental fests festivals like janmasthami, Ganesh chaturthi, dussehra, saraswathi puja, holi etc are celebrated by students of our college with the support of concerned authorities.

Fee structure is damn feasible in comparison with private institutions. Tuition fees - 20, 500 + 17, 500 = 38, 000 inr /yearhostel fees - 32, 300 + 14, 000 = 46, 300 inr/year.

College provides scholarship (either tuition fee waiver/ hostel fee waiver/ or both) depending on the financial position of the student and student loans are provided by the sbi located in our college.

Extracurriculars are very much a part of our college which includes technical, managerial, cultural, departmental and sports fests individually. We have four cultural clubs in our college comprising of students from all states and no discrimination is tolerated. labs are also well equipped with necessary machinery and are in good working conditions. We have hostal days for every hostel and each hostel celebrates one major festivalof india.

Hostels of nit surat are wonderful as compared to other nits. 1st and 2nd year students live in a double sharing room while from third year single roms are alloted in any one of the mega hostel.average rental + electricity bill per year is 18, 000 inr.

NIT surat has a strong and helpful alumni. we have an alumni cell in our college and they help in providing internships and scholarships to meritorious. Ragging is very minimal in our college and seniors share their thoughts through placement talks and cev talks.

We have one set of midterm tests and one end sem tests.one week ( five working days) is alloted for the both respectively. lab exams are conducted one week prior to end sem exams. Exams and labs are not very hectic and are manageable.

We are taught mostly by professors and assistant professors having good experience and high standards. Faculty guides us in technical as well as cultural clubs.
