Good experience to study at NIT

Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology, Surat is a college of National Importance and having highly qualified teachers, good infrastructure, hostel and mess facility which are world class, campus is very well located in city, Safety for woman is main priority of the authority.

I have cleared GATE 2006 exam to get admission into M. Tech at NIT Surat. In Gujarat, SVNIT, Surat (NIT-Surat) is top ranked college due to NIT status, highly qualified faculties, infrastructure and student friendly atmosphere.

My M. Tech were totally based on the Manufacturing, Design and thermal subjects which includes pressure vessel design, manufacturing processes and advanced heat transfer.

As we are sponsered by L & T, we were directly placed in the company after M. Tech and this is the reason whey we have not appeared for Internship. Internship are provided for B. Tech student only. Stipend depend on the company they are placed.

SVNIT has excellent record for placement and job. TCS, Infosys, Mahindra and Mahindra, Core companies like L&T, Essar, Linde and many more companies. Almost 100% placement in mechanical and computer engineering dpt.

Events were Mindbend which was totally dedicated to design and innovation. Sparsh for final year farewell function which includes dance, singing, talent hunt shows.

Fee structure is 17500 and 20500 in odd-even semester. The fee structure is liable to change according to the latest rules given by MHRD. Online fees payment is provided and which ultimately saves the time of students.

Currently, SC/ST and OBC students are getting scholarship. All M. Tech and PHD students are getting stipend regularly from MHRD.

Campus life is excellent. Well equipped. Good cultural life. Dispensary and all required faculty. Woman safety. Complete campus is secured by private security system

Hostel are of excellent quality. Mess are well cleaned. Hostel is provided with wireless internet connectivity 24 hours.

Senior students are well placed and ready to help any of whenever help required. Meeting are held for this purpose. Alumni association takes care of this.

Exams are taken two times per semester. Mid semester with 30 marks, End semester having 100 Marks which will be divided by 2 to get 50 marks. 20 marks internal. Thus, total = 100 marks

Majority of the faculty at college are doctorate. They are well qualified and good at teaching. In particular, Mechanical Engineering Department 90% faculties are doctorate and remaining are pursuing their doctorate. All are very well engaged in research and development activities in a projected funded by central government institution like Department of Science and Technology, Delhi.
