All in all MDU is a nice place to explore yourself yes it also have some pits and holes like every other establishments as the management is quiet slow in working but still the university helps you in bringing out your best self out.

There was a written entrance test for MA English of 100 marks, out of which I scored 53 marks. The test was divided in 2 parts- objective and subjective. After which qualified student went through the counselling process to get their seat fixed in the course. Faculty of the Department of English and Foreign Languages is very much impressive which made me to choose MDU for my Masters in English Literature.

The course curriculum is set very intellectually, through which we are introduced to various aspects and varieties of Literature. The course curriculum covers up every genre of Literature and English Language be it Linguistics or grammar poetry or drama african or American writing and much more.

Yes our college provides summer internship for second and third year students. Duration of internship in second and third year is of weeks and in final year it is between 4 to 6 months. Students are also awarded marks out of 300 after these internships as per their syllabus guidelines.General stipend a student gets is around 10,000 rupees.

MDU have its own seperate placement cell directed by Dr. Kuldeep Singh although MDU is not much famous for its campus placements. A very less amount of companies come for campus placements in MDU. The average packages MDU student gets is of 4-5 lakh.

Various events are celebrated in MDU campus like cultural fests, zonal youth festivals, technical fests, literary seminars and all these events are conducted a rather very big scale where students from many other colleges and universities also participates. There is a separate management team to handle all such events which divides the events according to the time and number of participants.

Being a state university fee structure of MDU is rather feasible so that one could get quality education without burdening his/her family by various loans. Even a student belonging from lower class of society can get through with the fees decided by the university. University also provides various scholarship programs to desrving sudents to help them financially in achieving their education. Here is the list of fees of few courses provided by MDUBE/B.Tech 28,720, ME/M.Tech 65433, M.Phil/Ph.D in Arts 2,010, M.Sc 5,800, MMc 3,759, LLB 1,968, LLM 4,428, MCA 10,603.

University provides various scholarship programs to the students. one of them is Post-Graduate Indira Gandhi Scholarship for Single Girl Child. An amount of Rs.2,000 is given per month for the duration of Post-Graduate course to the single girl child upto he age of 30 years. The scholarship is given only in non-professional regular courses.

University life was pretty exciting as there used be so many extra curricular activities like seminars and debates, various competitions and workshops, tours and trips and much more. One can find students of different races and nationalities in the campus enjoying with each other without any hesitation. Farewells and Freshers are a very important part of the university life. There are various societies like literary society, cultural society and many other. No discrimination can be found between girls and boys in the campus.

University provides separate hostels for girls and boys. Hostels are very big and spacious and rooms are shared by 2 or 3 students. Hostel fees is also very feasible and food provided is of best quality as the hostel management takes great care of students health. As hostel rooms are on sharing basis, they are very spacious so that students don't feel stuck into walls. Even if the seats gets filled there are various PG's nearby the university campus only for students.

Seniors are always helpful, they are basically half teachers my seniors were always ready to help with projects and seminars, in preparing notes or preparing for exams in suggesting books and papers. Few of my seniors are right there in the department working as research scholars my experience with my seniors was very nice and friendly.

Exam structure of MDU is not hectic or tiring. There is a proper management to conduct the exams on proper time and after a set duration exams are usually conducted in double shifts-morning shift and evening shift, in respective departments so that a proper system and decorum could be maintained.

Faculty of my college is very much experienced in their respective fields and have the in depth knowledge of their subjects. English Department in particular assess a very much qualified and experienced faculty. Dr. SPS Dahiya, Dr. Loveleen, Dr. Rashmi Gathwal are few of them. They know the high and low points of all their students and they never steps back from guiding their students to the extent that every single doubt of the student gets cleared, no matter how much time they have to devote for that then. We have the faculty of total 13 professors to guide us throughout our course.
