Dileep's Review On Pearl Academy, Bangalore

There are different courses offered by the university such as fashion management , school of design , contemporary media, school of new age business and many more. Moreover many international students also come to our college and enroll themselves for a semester in whatever course they like to understand the Indian designs , crafts , the garment industry the traditional designs and embroideries of Jaipur , graphic and jewellery design and most importantly fashion merchandising and business management. The exam structure is also quite good having two semesters in a year with internal examinations to check whether the students are understanding their course or not.

The placement drive is held at our hall in fashion management building.This year many renowned companies like Accenture, IBM, Tata Consultancy Services , Walt Disney , Myntra, Flip kart came to our college and have recruited students to the positions of Business associate, Fashion consultant , Assistant manager , Deputy manager etc. This year Pearl Academy has recorded 95% placements than 92.2% last year.

The fee is slightly expensive , for the course that I have taken is 21.58 L for four years as it is a UG course . Bifurcating it further , the tuition fees is around 217500 rupees . And the one time registration fees that I have paid in the first year is 58500 rupees. The exam fees is around 15500 rupees and I have also taken hostel accommodation so i dishes t's around 3 L . I know the fee structure is expensive but the faculty that is provided to us is really commendable because of which this structure does not prove much of an issue.

Yes there is a Merit cum scholarship awarded to the fresher students who are enrolling for different programs like UG, PG courses and Masters programs.Well under this scholarship a tuition waiver of 10% is also awarded to the students but just for one year divided into two categories 50% is waived by the university and the is rest cap is around 25%. But it should be strictly noticed that this scholarship is awarded to students whose family income is less than 6 L per annum. Secondly a merit scholarship is also provided to the top performers in the batch of the admission process( entrance+interview) .This is recently launched to provide the well deserving students with scholarship.

We normally have parties after our exams and their are official parties organised by the college as on freshers week . Fashion ramp walk is also organised by the university and many top notch people are invited to assess the students on their walk.Every week we have our workshop on different subjects in our course which helps us to gain more insight into the Fashion industry.

Yes I have opted for the hostel facility as I am not from Bangalore and I don't find p.g that comfortable . The hostel fees is around 2,70000 with the service charge and security deposit ( which is refundable) is 54000 and 10000 respectively. I have contacted Miss Natasha Pant , who was responsible to telling the details about the hostel. The hostel A.c are quite good and there is usually no light shortages or otherwise the student might suffer from the sultry weather of Bangalore. The mess food is also good we have different types of dishes made every day according to the time table which is set up by the students council.

Coming to the admission process in Pearl Academy an entrance test is conducted by the university to shortlist the students who they find are worthy enough and have enough knowledge about the fashion industry. Basically we need to apply for the admission online or maybe offline but I preferred to go with the online process.After filling the form I listed out my options that is Fashion and lifestyle business management , provided them my scanned photograph and all the relevant details about my educational qualification.My name was there in the list which came out later and then I was asked to bring my all relevant documents.

The faculty at Pearl Academy is really good.All the teachers have a really good knowledge about the fashion industry . I am a kind of curious person and my teachers also help me in any issue that can't be resolved by me.The lectures of Akshat Rana sir are really helpful as we get deep understanding of the business management and fashion models . The guest faculty is also very good and helped us in clearing all our doubts.
