Remarks
Our college is one of the best rated arts and science college present in Chennai. Compared to other colleges the courses are feasible and a student can happily enjoy their college life with lots of extracurricular activities. The college apart from academics teach such as value education and motivate our hidden talents to excel in our life.
Placement Experience
Biotechnology department does not have a well documentation in placements regarding core companies to offer students. But many software and IT companies offer placements for various medical coding jobs and other positions. Our college includes a strict curriculum, where final year students are given free coaching and training to employability skills. And we don't have opportunities to attend internships in industries, but our college organizes various industrial connects trips, conferences, workshops, seminars and guest lectures to develop knowledge.
College Events
Our college as an overview has a very pleasant ambiance. All the students actively participate in National Science Day, Republic Day, Independence Day, Inter-college sports competition, Green Campus awareness programs etc.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Compared to other colleges, the fee structure of my college is very feasible with 28,000 per year. You will be charged here and then for various extra curricular activities ranging from 200-800 rupees. As of total you can complete your undergraduate within one and half lakh.
Fees and Financial Aid
There are various scholarship offered by the college to students who secure top ranks in state as well as university. Also University of Madras offers exemption of fees to first graduates in family and to people who does not have proper financial background.
Campus Life
My college is always active in labs, sports and other activities. We students celebrate them with full enthusiasm and energy. Our college is the best in the hockey team. There are so many other labs for internet facilities, online course training, languages, and commerce apart from regular labs.
Hostel Facilities
Our college offers hostel facilities only for girls residing outside Chennai. I have not opted for Hostel but I know it because of my friends.The hostels are spacious and all the girls are very friendly.
Alumni/Alumna
The alumni network is very active in all social media platforms, and help the juniors to gain knowledge about the outside world while we are still studying. Many successful alumnus are invited to the colleges in the form of guest lectures to deliver their success stories.
Admission
My college usually prefers offline mode of admissions, but we can get details about the admission procedures through official website of my college. After my +2 examination results were out, I was determined to join biology-based courses. My family and I went to the campus to know the admission details. I got my admission through selection board, where I scored an aggregate more than their average cutoff listed for 10th and +2 marks.
Faculty
Our department is a five-member team consisting of well educated and skilled professors. Our HOD, she is very kind and gentle. She answers all our queries patiently and each professor is unique in their own way of teaching and imbibing knowledge to students.
