This is one of the best college one could get in India. The biggest concern is only the admission part. Rest of the life is learning with pleasure.
Entrance Preview
I scored 105/180 marks in the IIT JEE mains examination. I wanted to stay in delhi as it is my home city, and hence i opted for the delhi campus. Owing to my strong interest in the electrical gadgets, I chose the electrical engineering stream.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is the best you would find in India. In addition to the core courses, there is a basket of departmental electives, out of which one has to choose one sub-stream, i.e., communications/VLSI/control/power. And you need to do three electives of your choice in the selected sub-stream. You also get to choose 5-6 courses from other departments as open electives.
Internships Opportunities
My experience in particular was very good. The companies that come for placement, also tend to take a few students for internship programs. And the good performing students also get pre-placement offers.The stipend offered matches the best standards followed in the industry. Some companies even put you on a regular scale for the internship period. I went to Barclays Capital, Singapore for my internship.
Placement Experience
They are best one can get in a technical institute in India. All the companies from different spheres from the industry come to select the candidates. The average salaries could be as high as 7-8 lpa.
College Events
Rendezvous is the annual cultural festival of IIT Delhi, and it is one among the best cultural festivals in Northern India. In addition to that, they have technical fest (Tryst) and also a literary fest (Literati). They get participation from all over India.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is matching the standards prevalent in the country. It is feasible I believe. One can manage the fees easily. Also, there could be some discounts for some under-privileged students, or some students from other categories.
Fees and Financial Aid
Yes, the college offers scholarships as well as loans for the needy students. There is something known as Merit-cum-means (MCM) scholarship, which is offered to students coming from a low income background. Loan facility is available to all the students from the on-campus SBI bank.
Campus Life
The campus life is one of the best you can get. The location is very good.The campus is self-sufficient with its one hospital, shopping complex, sports ground, swimming pool, and other sports facilities. You may participate in as many competitions as you like. There are umpteen opportunities for everyone.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel facilities are good. In fact they are better as compared to the hostels provided by the other colleges. The food quality is good and can be managed by the regularly elected student bodies. Also, one can pay little extra for some additional food
Alumni/Alumna
The seniors are very good and keep you prepared for the forthcoming events. They prepare you for the inter-hostel cultural and sports events. Also, they guide you regarding your studies, internships as well as the placement opportunities.
Exam Structure
Exam structure involves 2 minors and one major exam for every theory subject in a semester. They can be easily managed. The labs have one final examination only. In addition, there are some project components that prepare you well for the industry require
Faculty
The faculty is excellent and they know their subjects very well.They are among the best in their respective areas.I was regular in the classes and did most of my learning in the classrooms only.
