Course Curriculum Overview
Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) course at I.T.S Dental College, Hospital & Research Centre is recognised by Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India. The curriculum in the basic sciences will be taught by the faculty and will be as per the enclosed schedule. We were expected to have 75% attendance individually in Theory, Practical & Clinical in each year. However, at the time of appearing for the professional examination in the subject, the aggregate percentage of attendance in the subject should satisfy above mentioned condition. Students who fails in one subject in an examination is permitted to go to the next higher class and appear for the subject and complete it successfully before he is permitted to appear for the next higher examination.
Placement Experience
Through the level of knowledge expertise gained by us we were able to start our own clinic and provide services to the public. Many of my friends started working in nursing homes as well. We were also allowed to work in charitable hospitals and provide health camps etc. I am personally a part time advisor for a toothpaste company.
College Events
Every year college celebrated all common events such as Teachers day and National day functions. We were encouraged to set up camps where people who are from backward community visit for free check up and get advices. Apart from that we celebrated Friday cultural events and World Oral Surgeon day, Oral Health day, etc.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The total fees for my course was almost 13,00,000 Rs. for day scholars and 25,00,000 Rs. for hostellers. The fee structure looked quite expensive initially, later we students understood the importance and we enjoyed learning for the amount that is paid each year. I do believe that students can make them feel satisfied for the fees paid and gain maximum knowledge.
Campus Life
The college gave importance to both cultural and extracurricular activities acted as a platform for students to showcase their personal interests such as singing, dancing. Apart from that they encouraged us to participate in sports and we did represent our college and we won 2nd place in overall rankings.
Alumni/Alumna
I very excited to be part of Jewel of ITS Dental as it was an opportunity to meet our batch mates and we did recollect memories and enjoyed with our lecturers and promised to meet following years. I thank all the seniors who made an effort to gather all students and help them gather along and enjoy the moment.
Admission
I got admitted in this college by clearing the Common Entrance test called National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) with a very decent score. Every year the details about this test were published in newspaper during the month of April / May. The candidate must complete the age of 17 years on or before 31st December of the year of admission to the BDS course.
Faculty
The faculties were supporting and students had great understanding with them which enabled us get enough exposure and knowledge with the staffs sharing their experiences. There were also guest lectures which also helped us understand our subject in a wider aspect. Any form of doubts was cleared by staffs after lectures.
