Remarks
There is no negative remark which I can point out about my university. From facilities to studies everything is top class. College life is brilliant here .We is also learning how to be social. It's been a great life experiencing here. I am grateful to be a part of this college. Along with dentistry, personal development classes are also held. Also, there are many options for sports. Extra curriculum activities are also a part and parcel of our college.
Course Curriculum Overview
Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) course in which basic sciences will be taught by the faculty and will be as per the enclosed schedule. We are expected to have 75% attendance individually in Theory, Practical & Clinical in each year. However, at the time of appearing for the professional examination in the subject, the aggregate percentage of attendance in the subject should satisfy above mentioned condition. Any candidate who fails in one subject in an examination is permitted to go to the next higher class and appear for the subject and complete it successfully before he is permitted to appear for the next higher examination.
Placement Experience
We can serve the public through government hospital setup, corporate hospitals, by setting up a private clinic or a nursing home. The dentist can join a community health service or a charitable hospital as well to reach out to the people. As a dentist, we are allowed to work in the research and advisory departments of pharmaceuticals companies. We can also work as advisors and researchers in companies associated with oral care products like toothpaste, mouth wash and gum care products.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The total fees for my course is 13,00,000 Rs. for day scholars and 25,00,000 Rs. for hostellers. The fee structure looks quite expensive for students who prefer to stay in hostel and study, but it is feasible for students who would like to pursue BDS in such a reputed college and we students get benefitted for the amount that is paid each year and make full use of the resources available.
Campus Life
We students get to enjoy air conditioned classrooms, sports tournaments, college cultural etc. And our hostel is the best compared to other hostels. They provide us air conditioned rooms with 24/7 enough electricity, water. All the facilities are good and feels worthy for the fees paid.
Alumni/Alumna
We do have an alumni network called the Jewels of ITS Dental where passed out students get along and celebrate their homecoming ,cut cakes and enjoy their day.And my seniors also help us provide necessary books for reference and help us in our studies as they have a better knowledge about this course.
Admission
Admission to BDS Courses at our college is done through a single Common Entrance test called National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The Details of Test are advertised in National Newspaper during April / May of every Year. I managed to clear the exam with decent marks. The candidate must complete the age of 17 years on or before 31st December of the year of admission to the BDS course.
Faculty
There is a good exposure given to students in our college in respect to instruments used and the techniques followed. The faculty is also good understanding and supporting. There are many extra lectures by well-known lecturer which are for our knowledge and to build us as a good doctor. Doubts and clarifications are solved on the spot which enables us to understand better.
