My flight practice sessions at IGRUA

The IGRUA functions under the Ministry of Civil Aviation. It is an autonomous institution. It is the best flying school in India. The Indian Navy and Coast Guard send their pilots for training to IGRUA. This shows the quality of training provided at IGRUA.

The courses offered to avail CPL are air navigation, flight planning, aviation meteorology, air frames & engines, air regulation, RTR cockpit resource management and air films. The curriculum also includes ground trainings, computer-based trainings. The total class hours for flying training are about 200 hours.

IGRUA guarantees good training. The placement percentage changes every year with respect to the demand. But the people from IGRUA seek higher positions into airlines because of their CPL from this institute. The average placement record is about 80%.

The fee structure for obtaining CPL in a multi engine aircraft is ?.45,00,000/- for academics. The additional expenditures for uniform, study material, navigation computer, head phones, personal accident insurance premium,etc. will account about ?.2,00,000.

The most expected event of our institute is "Full Throttle", where all the cadets participate and exhibit their talent in the cultural event. We have football ground, basketball court, volleyball court, indoor badminton and squash court. There is a DJ party on every Sunday at the auditorium called "The Sector X Party".

The institute provide separate hostels for both boys and girls. The rooms are allowed on twin sharing basis. The mess caters a healthy and delicious diet. The fee for accommodation and mess is ?.12,000/- per month.

The alumni cadets regular come over to the campus and interact with the present cadets. Its really a fulfilled time with all of them, rejoicing together as a family. There is a separate group for the alumni members to stay connected with IGRUA.

The application form is got by searching IGRUA ENTRANCE in www.igrua.com . I have applied for CPL with multi-engine endorsement and instrument rating (IR). The scanned copies of required documents should be submitted while applying. We have to pay ?.12,000/- for application fee. The eligibility criteria is 10+2 or equivalent board schooling with a minimum of 50%. We will have an online written test, interview/viva and Pilot Aptitude Test/ Psychometric Test.
