Days when I was in NIFT, Shillong

The best part of our college is that it is NIFT, Shillong. We have interesting workshops where we actually practically learn something from various experts in their fields. We also have great field trips to crafts exhibition or any historic places. We have really cool fashion shows and ramps every year in our college.

The course curriculum of a Fashion College is very interesting and captivating. Well for Master's Students it might be a little pressure exerting but still I like it. We have 2 semesters every year, with practicals and internals as well. There are also many subjects to cover-up before exams.

We have really good placements and job-opportunities here. Most of the Fashion Management students have already been placed with good and reputed companies with decent packages. But I haven't looked for internship programs in our college. Students if they want can go for off-campus private or government companies.

Apart from Fresher's, farewell and other cultural events and fests, we also have several more enchanting events like Fashion Show, Ramps and other Fashion Exhibition, where students exhibit their skills and handwork. We also have creative shows and talent hunts in our college every year. The events that I liked so much was Spectrum 2019 and NIFT convocation with student creation 2019.

I think that the fee structure is feasible and a bit expensive but reasonable as it is a Fashion College. The fees are quite less than other private fashion colleges all over the world. It provides us with practical learning and experiences at affordable ranges. For my 2 years Master's journey I have to pay Rs 4.54 lakhs including tuition fees, exam fees and other fees like admission fees and renewal fees as well in total.

Yes we have nice extra-curricular activities going on in our college every year like sports, seminars by expert artisans and craft persons, fashion workshops where we learn so may interesting things, projects and various other craft activities are there.

As I had completed my graduation in relevant field from NIFT, KIITs, I had applied for various Fashion college in India. Well I was granted admission in this college on the basis of my score in entrance exam.

In terms of teaching and in other aspects as well, our faculties are really great. They are very lenient and also particular about practicals, labs, course completion. If some course is still left and the exams are near, they don't hesitate to take extra classes. They are also very helpful and provide us with notes to make it easier for us.
