Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is somewhat well planned . We have internships programmes at the end of every semester which give us a lot of exposure about the media industry.In the foundation course we are taught about the basis of media management . Later on we are divided into two groups namely communication management and media management which is further divided into the journalism and Av program . Here we need to showcase our thinking and creativity skills. The duration of the course is two years.
Placement Experience
Yes our college provides us industry internships where we get direct exposure and hands on experience with the industry . The minimum stipend starts from 8000 p.m. Almost 80% of our batch got placed this time . Job roles such as audio - visual production roles , editor , cinematographer, script er were taken up by the students from the top notch firms like TBWA , Google , Grey Advertising , Leo Burnett and many more.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The tuition fees is around 2,17000 per year . The other fees that you need to deposit is 35000 in the first year. Thus the total comes down to 4.69 L p.a . The total fees for two years is approximately 9.03 L which I consider is quite feasible seeing the placements and benefits offered by the college . This fees structure does not include the hostel and mess fees.
Campus Life
Our college organizes a inter batch library debate called Maadhyam where the students showcase their communication skills as a celebration of words , creativity and wisdom.We also have an annual theater festival , Dionysia , where the writers , directors , thespians conquer the stage . We also have a design and media festival called DZMA which hosts workshops by media professionals, performances to tell thew students about the new radical approach to art & design . It is spread over a period of five days . In true spirit , is a sports event in which students participate in various indoor and outdoor activities.
Hostel Facilities
We are provided with seminar halls , to host regular demonstration classes , lectures with LCD projectors.Our college also have a screening floor with a production control room which is equipped with lightning . The computer lab is fully network and gives its student high speed broadband connectivity. The college library has a collection of books covering from a range of technical / non technical books pertaining to the mass & media programme . The hostel rooms are also quite good and spacious and the hostel fees for girls hostel is around 17,8600 p.a on triple sharing basis . The mess and canteen food is also quite good.
Admission
In order to get admission in this college you need to clear SNAP examination which is organised by the university . It tests your skills on reasoning ability, English comprehension , Aptitude and general awareness . I managed to secure 76 marks in the examination an was called for group discussion and interview. I was able to clear the interview round also and later granted admission in the college.
Faculty
The teaching methodology of every teacher is quite different and innovative . There were many guest lecturers who have different specializations , guide us in our future courses of action.We have demonstration and seminars held every month so that we gain more insights about the subject.Overall our teachers are very supportive .
