IIT JEE , opted for iitmadras, near to home plus my cousin was already studying there. 2009 it was conventional counselling session unlike nowadays where u fill the choice sheet(hard copy) and submit it to them. Of course u will be given one copy for ur reference.
Internships Opportunities
My internship experience was not that good. But usually stipend ranges from min of 6k for 8 weeks, there are few people who got upto 40k . There were majorly core companies namely TVS, mahindra&mahindra, shell, MRF, philips etc.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee structure previously feasible but now it has been increased but nevertheless you can get education loan from the bank inside campus itself. Academic fee 27500 per semester, hostel fee of 20000 per semester.
Fees and Financial Aid
MCM scholarship is provided.( merit cum means) . Almost all of them will get if your parental income is below 4.5lpa previously now they may have increased . In this scholarship you have to pay oly 1500 as tution fee but hostel fee remains same. And you are allowed only one scholarship during your stay at iit.
Exam Structure
It is not really hectic but you can feel the rush during exams time. College is for four months in which saturday sundays are holidays and some national holidays , so classes and exams everything else will be done in that time only. Once you get in you will be carried away by the flow, labs are not much painful only 2 times per week for 3 hrs each.
Faculty
Obviously faculty will be the best , everyone has some expectation , nobody can spoon feed you ,it is not kindergarden education anymore so its not wise to expect professors to teach you each and everything but professors will not ask you anything which has not been taught in the class , most people do not realize this.
