M.B.A course at IIT Madras is truly under-rated and should be considered as a serious options for students, especially given the opening up of the course to graduates from all streams.

CAT: 97.78 percentileI chose IIT Madras as it offered one of the best faculty in the field of Operations. Apart from being a reputed institute, the course offered me excellent placement opportunities and the fee was extremely nominal
Course Curriculum Overview
The first year considered of core courses encompassing all fields of study: Operations, Marketing, Finance, IT and Data Analytics. In the second year, I chose subjects related to Operations Management and a few in IT and Marketing. Internships Opportunities
The internship experience were good for most of the batch. Since I chose to take an internship based on sources other than college, my experience would not count as a general part of the summer placement. The average stipend was close to Rs. 20, 000 per month.
Placement Experience
Average package in my batch was 10 LPA and companies consisted mainly in the Consulting, IT and Banking domains based on the interests of the batch
College Events
Apart from the annual festivals as IIT Madras, Department of Management Studies also held its B-School festival which saw participation from premier colleges across India
Fee Structure And Facilities
At the time of my courseHostel Fee: Rs 16, 000 per semesterCourse Fee: Rs. 58, 000 per semesterI paid a total of 3.25 lacs for two years including hostel Though this has seen a significant increase in the past year.
Fees and Financial Aid
Best options are available with SBI, which also has a branch within the campus of IIT Madras. Some scholarships were also provided for exceptional performance in Academics which can be further researched on the IIT Madras website as the same are updated on a regular basis
Campus Life
Extra-curricular activities were diverse in nature ranging from cultural, literary to sports. These events were extremely exciting with many students participating across the campus
Hostel Facilities
We had the oldest hostels, which were actually the best in the campus. The hostels pitted against each other for sports and cultural events which formed an important tradition of IIT Madras
Alumni/Alumna
A relatively young college focused well on the Alumni network, which generated various opportunities for projects and placement. The alumni network of IIT Madras also provided the students to get grants for exchange programs
Exam Structure
Terms were typically 8-weeks with 1-week of exams preceded by 7-weeks of study. The schedule was relatively loaded but allowed the students to pursue various extra-curricular interests
Faculty
The faculty for IIT Madras had extremely high credentials, especially in the field of Operations Management. The Head of Dept. held the position of President of Asian Society of Operations Management. The other senior faculty was well celebrated among the researchers and teachers across the nation.A sizable proportion of the faculty comprised of professionals visiting from outside who have held several commanding positions in the corporate arena
