My experience in iit has indeed been a very knowledgable and enriching one. everyday there is something to learn. it has helped mould me as a person as a whole.
Entrance Preview
It was a sponsored course from the company i am working with i.e., L&T Construction. I wanted to do my masters in construction management and it was a good opportunity for me to change my job profile in the company as well. First round was aptitude following which was technical and HR interview.
Course Curriculum Overview
The Course consists of management courses related to construction as well as civil technical electives. The 2nd year has a project which is done in joint collaboration of L&T and the institute.
Internships Opportunities
My internship was in the comapny i worked in i.e., L&T itself. the stipend they offer is 13000 a month and we have teaching assistance responsibilities for it.
Placement Experience
The placement opportunities for post grade students is not as wide as for the grad students. For post grad this year the company that came were Shell, PWC, Walter P Moore and L&T.
College Events
Saarang is the college cultural fest and Shaastra the college tech fest. Other than that we have a civil department tech fest. There is a management department that separately has a management fest.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Since it is a government college the fee is as per the government norms. for my sponsership criteria, i only have to pay the hostel fee which is about 18000/semster. the course fee would generallybe around 10000.
Fees and Financial Aid
College has a lot of scholarships to do internships abroad or present papers abroad and also during exchange program schemes. other than that the college also encourages teaching assistance for post grad and doctorate students and part time jobs for others.
Campus Life
The campus is indeed very rich and lively in terms of cocurriculars be it in any field from arts, music, dance to sports. Students are allowed to form study circles and groups for different clubs.
Hostel Facilities
Our campus is residential and hence most students stay in campus hostel itself like i do. First year for post grad students is usually sharing maybe with one or 3 more people. second year you are usually given single accomodation. Mess is very good with north or south indian preferences
Alumni/Alumna
The alumni are one of the strengths that keep the college alive, they have a association that actively work towards helping the students and towards the betterment of the college.
Exam Structure
Yeah the courses usually have 2 quizzes or 1 mid term and a final semester exam. Other than that we have surprise quizzes, assignments and a term project. yeah it is a little hectic but manageable.
Faculty
The faculty comes with rich industry experience and give us hands on experience with the subjects. The exams and assignments or projects are accordingly designed to make you think like how you would on the field.
