Course Curriculum Overview

We are taught about the applied branch of geophysics to have a in depth knowledge of ore, hydrocarbons, minerals, groundwater reservoirs, geothermal reservoirs . We learn about the atmospheric physics , dynamic and characteristic in order to make a comparative study about the outer atmosphere of the earth. We also have to carry out a field study after the completion of the course.

Placement Experience

Companies such as Bharat petroleum, INCOIS, Reliance industries, NIO, Indian Oil Petroleum, Geological survey of India, Coal India, Geological survey of India etc visited our college campus this year and recruited a pool of candidates. Internships were also offered by companies such as Hindustan Zinc, Central ground water board, NGRI etc this year. Most of these internships were unpaid because it was primarily provided to gain experience in the field of physical science.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees is 30,000 per semester. It does not include the hostel & mess facility. You need to also pay the security deposit and registration fees (non refundable) at the start of the semester.I consider the fees to very nominal and affordable.

Campus Life

Blood donation camps, save the girl child camps were organised at my college from time to time. The labs of the college were digitized and well maintained. Sports activities such as football, table tennis, basketball, badminton etc were regularly conducted to boost the morale of the students other than academics. Annual fests and fete are also conducted by the student council of our college every year.

Alumni/Alumna

The seniors are really helpful when we want to discuss our career options with them. They guide us where are we going wrong and what should be our approach to tackle situations so that we became industry ready at the end of the course. The alumni cell organises a conferences every year so that we can interact with our seniors and listen to their experiences with the real world.

Admission

The admission to this college is done twice in a year i.e August and September . Other than that you need to qualify UGC NET/JRF exams. Those students who are sponsored need to show the valid sponsorship details along with the NOC to the college department. 5% relaxation is given to students belonging to the reserved category. You can apply for the course via online mode. A merit list will be prepared based on your UGC NET score and based on that you will be granted admission in the college.

Faculty

4

The teachers of the college are of friendly nature. They believe in demonstrating practical examples rather than stressing on the theoretical area. Our query is duly solved by the teachers whenever asked. The faculty to student ratio is 3:50 in my department.Overall I would say that all the faculty members were highly trained individual who would support us in difficult times also.

Placement Experience:

From the 3rd semester, you are well eligible for placements. Various company's and firms get into some famous like Amarchand and so on. As an intern, you are not getting that big salary offers but you get a good and sustainable amount of money for work. I think the highest package was offered as 18lac per annum and the majority stick to 13 14 lakhs. 100% of students get placements if they have performed well in every semester. I've decided to work one year as a clerk with a judge and then on to do my master's in law from abroad.
