Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is set keeping in mind the latest developments in the industry and health care sector. The university takes semester wise exams and the finals account to total 65% of the course and the rest are the internals. The students also need to undergo 6 months of mandatory internship.
Placement Experience
The college provides with internships, and we have rotations between clinical units. The duration of the internship is a minimum of 6 months. This actually develops and trains the students to be a general practitioner and helps then acquire skills from health care professionals under supervision.
College Events
The university conducts inter-college competitions, sports competition, science quizzes, cultural events, etc. The college also has provisions for seeking sports as well, and they have a dedicated sports department for the same. The college has a big sports ground owned by the Goa University.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fees for my course were reasonable. The fees are to be paid in the form of demand deposits at the start of every semester. The other fees like a hostel, transportation, examination, miscellaneous are to pay as per the expenses the student's encounter.
Campus Life
The council organises various inter-college events like art and cultural fest, Annual day, and sports meet. With that, we also had a medical conference called Gomecon where the college invites the people from the medical field. It goes on for two-three days and consists of various workshops and competitions.
Admission
Your marks in higher secondary board won? count but you need to have a 50% aggregate to be eligible. The selection is based upon your performance in GCET examination conducted by DTE, Goa. It consists of 3 papers of 2 hours each with 75 questions from Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
Faculty
The staff are all well experienced and professional doctors. They are doing a great job, in providing education and engaging students in a way. They are supportive and help us not only in the academic prospect but also in the overall development of students and their learning process.
