Satisfied with the education system at IHM

This is a very big campus of 9 acres. The college has a basic training cafeteria, basic training kitchen, quantity food kitchen, advanced training kitchen, advanced training cafeteria, housekeeping, lab and laundry. All these labs are equipped with latest tools and are in good condition. The hostel is also very good with all amenities. Canteen is also provided for students to enjoy good food.

A graduate program of 3 years with focus on Hotel care management. The program trains students with all the skills, expertise and attitudes needed to fulfil assigned responsibilities in the restaurant industry efficiently. The program also includes in-depth laboratory work for students to study. It provides all basic knowledge needed in the hospitality. I am happy with the curriculum of both practical and theory classes. We have exam conducted semester wise with an internship in the 3rd or 4th semester.

We are provided industrial and training for placement before final year. This helps us to understand our area of interest and choose a career option in the hospitality fields. Students of B.Sc. course have training for duration of 17 weeks. The top recruiting companies are: Hyatt, Oberoi, Radisson, and Ashoka. All top hotel in and around New Delhi come and hire students every year.

The fee paid by me in the first year was 1,09,000 lakhs and the next two years it was 101,000 and 113,000 amounting to a total of approximately 3 lakh. It is not very less but it is ok to say that the facilities provided is best and more than the fees taken by the college. Scholarship is also provided to below poverty students.

Apart from the studies, a lot of events and activities are organized by the university. Cultural activities are run by super seniors and alumni. Water and energy conservation week is celebrated every year and full one week we enjoy a lot with many activities. The lab and library facilities are amazing with best faculty.

The hostel facility is really good. It accommodates 3 students in each room. 3 cupboards are also provided one for each individual. I was a student at the hostel. We were equipped with all the amenities in the hostel under the strict supervision of the warden of the hostel. Particular time was allocated to each operation that enabled us not to be distracted from the studies. Student safety is given high priority. Water and electricity facility were available around the clock.

The college provides both degree and diploma courses. The mode of application is online. Interview is conducted before final selection. Based on the marks received by the candidate in the qualifying exams they are called for interview. Personal interview is conducted to test the applicant? communication skills level of general awareness. The marks obtained in the interview are also considered with the marks obtained in the qualifying test and only then is the final list of the selected students published. The selected students have to come up for counselling. JEE exam in HMT is must for being eligible for B.Sc. courses.

Our college faculties are all professional in the hotel industry. All the teachers have experience and skills in their fields which help us to grasp things quickly, they train us very well. Our faculty are strict at times but they are also free that we can ask doubts to them. We have computer classes which include tally and MS excel. The computer faculty are very good and teach us all the basics as we are not pretty friendly using computers.
