Remarks

I had the greatest experience of my life during the five years of my College. I learnt so much and made life time friends. Lucknow University may not be as advanced as other universities/colleges but it has an inbuilt strong cultural connect which keeps it going despite all odds. I am told that they are upgrading the syllabus and mode of education year by year and that makes me very happy about my college.

Entrance Preview

Admission was granted on the basis of merit of CBSE score in Senior Secondary, My CBSE percentage was 79%, I was basically interested in Medical and wanted to purse graduation side by side. Lucknow University is a landmark institution with historical importance.

Internships Opportunities

No internship programme was offered and there was no stipend there of. We were taken to Geological excursions every year and in the second year of masters, we were taken to a very extensive excursion where we did our dissertation and presented our project out of which we were evaluated.

Placement Experience

2

In 2007 one Organisation came for placements -Directorate General of Hydrocarbons which took three of us from shortlisted 10 students. They offered the post of trainee Geo-scientist which had 1550 per month remuneration in first year and 25000 per month from the second year onwards.

College Events

2.5

The Freshers event, Teachers Day Celebration, Republic Day Celebration, Farewells. The events used to huge and a lot of students would participate. Approximately 200-1000 people gatherings I have seen during such functions which involved catering, decoration and other cultural arrangements.

Fee Structure And Facilities

For open seats for General Category students on the basis of merit the fees was little higher than other courses but was pretty affordable for the year.

Fees and Financial Aid

No, I did not require to take any kind of loan and did not hear of any such facility. But I received merit base scholarship for my college.

Campus Life

3.5

The gender ratio was around 4:10. We had many extra activities like remote sensing poster competitions, conferences and papers forums. There was sport facility indeed available but it was not a popular option to unwind those days. We had very advanced lab work facilities and this work was considered very seriously.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

I did not stay at Hostel but a hosteler friends which told that there campuses were very good. The canteen food was lip smacking and we enjoyed it a lot.

Alumni/Alumna

A Geology Department alumni forum is active which invites people every year. I have been there for couple of times. It is a great platform to catch up with your seniors, juniors and teachers. A lot of networking is done as they are being placed with various organisations.

Exam Structure

It was term end exam system which was soon to be converted to semester system after my batch. The classes were almost daily with the lab work the exams were not hectic but we had very laborious preparations.

Faculty

4

The faculty was renowned and experienced. All professors had been teaching for many years and provided very good notes. They were also coordinating specific technical projects which were quite interesting and we hoped to get associated with.

Course Curriculum Overview:

According to me you should choose Brahmanand College but as I wanted more practicals then theory work but it is not like that here because you get more time to study and practicals were less .Exams' timings were sometimes morning, afternoon so you will have to manage yourself accordingly.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I'd rate the curriculum 4/5. Topics like programing and data structures are super relevant.it prepares us for tech roles, but could include more hands on projects and industry tools. More focus on emerging tech like Ai /ML would be awesome. Exams are semester wise and okay.areas for improvement: internships, coding challenges, and guest lectures from pros. Solid foundation overall !

Course Curriculum Overview:

As the faculty teachers and all the staff was very good and the faculty teachers of the science were very fabulous in education causes me to choose this course... The curriculum here was in terms of social interaction was ok but it was not that good for the future real world academic pursuits as their were not that much activities for the social appearance... In terms of course curriculum and teaching method this college doesn't need much improvements because it is much better according to teaching method , as the teachers were good in terms of teaching... The timing and frequency was having much gap between one semester exam and the other semester exam , so there were not much difficulty in giving exams according to my perspective...
