Review of Shillong College

The course curriculum for the first year gives exposure to the various domains with the core courses and projects with hands on experience. For the second year, there is a plethora of courses to choose from as per one's interest with the option of independent study if wanted by the student.

The placements in our college are good. We have an amazing committee. The committee works very hard for the campus placements. They always show the best rigour and came out stronger for the placements of the students. They are interactive and cordial, which is rare in many colleges.

There are various corporate competitions held throughout the year. Each student has to go for internship after the completion of first year to get industry exposure. Also, diversity in terms Work-experience, Gender, Academics etc. Is balanced enough to get excellent peer learning.

The fees are affordable here. The tuition fees are for ?840, fees at the time of admission are to be paid ?150. The university takes examination fees of ?400, and other fees of ?17920. The total fees yearly are to be paid ?32,950.

A new academic building was started this year with fully air-conditioned classrooms and high-speed Wi-Fi. Student hostel is close to the academic building. There is a fully equipped gymnasium and also a huge playground.

Admission is approved by North Eastern Hill University, Shillong. You can get admission directly with proper counselling. You need to be eligible though, and have a minimum aggregate of 55% in H.S.S.L.C/12th Std.

The faculty is experienced and a lot more interactive. They stay on the campus and are easily approachable, at any hour of the day. Teachers make students believe in themselves and guide them throughout as a mentor and guide.
