Graduating at Shillong College

My overall experience at Shillong college was refined by excellent student community and faculty members. The activities held regularly also helped me to move outside my shell. The only thing to improve about the college is regarding the job opportunities and internships. Besides that this college would give you the college life experience you've always wanted.

The course structure is comparatively average. The contents of the course provide ample expertise in the field to further your studies. Exam structure is similar to any other colleges with internal and semester exams.

The college didn't offer much in this area although they are working towards making connections to move ahead. Internships are not mandatory as well. I graduated last year and I didn't get to sit in any placement process.

I would say that the fee structure is really affordable to any common person compared to other colleges. My fee was Rs. 13,250 a year which I think was really worth it. The college provides a great library and gym facility as well.

There are common scholarships provided by the government for minorities. The fee isn't high enough to apply for student loan but you still can if its necessary. The college awards cash prizes based on merit or extracurricular activities as well.

NSS and NCC are really active in our college. Range Rovers is another team that was established to render services to the community, so is Youth Red Cross. Red Ribbon Club is another functional club that focuses on spreading awareness on Adolescent Health. Apart from these there are clubs whose objectives are to help the students to become confident, involved in extracurricular activities etc., such as Zoonic Circle, Techies Club, Botanic Club. All the students are friendly and nice to each other and treat each other with respect and love.

I have always wanted to learn English and my experience with this college from admission to graduation has been exciting. I just had to have good marks in my 12th grade to get into this college. They welcome every aspiring student if they have the basic qualification.

The faculty members are actually a memorable part of my college life. They have always pushed me to work harder. If you have any concerns regarding anything at all, you can freely approach them. Their classes are really something to look forward to and I never missed any of them. They have plenty of expertise in the subject they teach.
