Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is diverse and focuses on multiple areas of research such as Classical Sociology, Sociological Imagination of India, Patterns of Group Inequality, Perspectives in Sociology, Research Methodology, Social Issues, Contemporary Debates, Social Statistics, Sociology of Karnataka, Understanding Bengaluru and many others.
Placement Experience
The course has a mandatory project work for all the students. Other than that, every student gets multiple opportunities of securing an internship as well as jobs through the college placement cell.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The registration fee is Rs. 605. The yearly tuition fee is Rs. 5263. The total cost of one student is Rs. 8976 which has to be paid annually. The fee is quite feasible, and hence can be afforded by most students.
Campus Life
The college organizes multiple extracurricular activities on a regular basis. They organize guest lectures, competitions, fests, sports tournaments. Sports tournaments include inter college activities, as well.
Admission
One has to secure minimum 40% in aggregate of all subjects as well as 50% in the main subject at the undergraduate level. After fulfilling the eligibility criteria, I applied for the course online. I had to sit for an entrance examination. After the exam, the college declares a merit list on their website. At the end, a counselling session is held, to secure admission.
Faculty
The faculty of the college is highly qualified and well experienced in their respective areas of interests. They are not only friendly but also helpful towards their students. They focus on debates, workshops, seminars and classroom lectures.
