Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum for sound recording & sound design revolves around creative avenues and aspects such as pre, post and location productions, computer games, films and various other things. The course duration is 3 years and each year is divided into 2 semesters each.
Placement Experience
The internship and placement opportunities are abundant but choosing the right one is what will carve your career. Differentiating between productive and useless projects was one of the learning that I acquired there which turned out to be very helpful for my career.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure for PG Diploma in sound recording & designing costs a total of Rs. 2.33 lakhs for a 3 year programme. Further, the fees can be paid in parts annually i.e, Rs. 77,812 every year which is affordable and justified for a creative programme like this.
Campus Life
The college students are involved in various creative activities and not just their field of study. In my time, I was also involved in dramatics as it interested me a lot. I also participated in various plays and theatre acts which garnered me knowledge as to how this industry operates.
Admission
I completed my PG Diploma in Sound Recording & Sound Design from FTII, Pune in 2018. It is one of the premier institutes for students interested in cinematography and acting. There are only 10 seats available for this course and students are selected on the basis of their marks scored in 10+2 along with their portfolio and the work they have done in this field. It is mandatory for the students to have studied Physics till class 12th.
Faculty
The faculty of the college is highly talented and have brilliant portfolios and work experiences making them very good mentors and guides. They took regular classes and every week we were asked to present something new and creative which was very resourceful.
