Entrance Preview

AIPMT-2011, Marks-406/480 .Besides the fact that the college is one of the best medical college in the country, it was also the best one available at my rank.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course although stereotypically extensive, is interesting. The course's duration is of 4 and a half years plus an year of internship at the completion. All the subjects are compulsory comprising of 14 subjects. They are distributed evenly across the 4 years with nonclinical subjects in the first year, para clinical in the 2nd year and clincal subjects in the 3rd and final year.

Internships Opportunities

There is no campus placement in the college. Also the internship is compulsory internally and the stipend consists of Rs. 7000.

Placement Experience

2.5

There is no campus placement .After the completion of the undergraduate course, the student can opt for either a post graduation degree or enter a private practice. The student can also apply for posts in government service.

College Events

4

Starting from the 1st year, there is a welcoming Fresher's Party for the new comers. It is followed by the Annual Sports Meet of the college. At the end of the calendar year, the college organises its annual cultural fest called Rhapsody.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Feasible. The annual fee is approx 45,000 in the first year including the security money which is claimed to be returned at the completion of the course. Then in the following years ,an annual fee of approx 30000 is submitted. Apart from the annual fee, there is also the exam fee that is paid before the exams.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college provides an array of scholarships for the students. Some are funded by the local government where as some by the college itself.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

The hostels are spacious with adequate room space, with sufficient recreational services, like football fields, and auditorium halls for indoor games like badminton table tennis etc. The mess are run by the Maharajas, the chefs hired on a contract basis and serve 2 meals per day at the cost of 40 per meal irrespective to the amount .

Alumni/Alumna

There is an association, Georgian Alumni Association which specifically aims to maintain a connection with each of its passing students. Due to its extensive management, there is a meet up held at the completion of silver jubilee of each batch which is populously attended.

Faculty

3.5

Keeping the age old reputation of the college, the faculty comprises of renowned doctors and clinicians.

The curriculum prepares us for the real time management of the patient illness. If we talk about the difficulty of the curriculum, so yes it is difficult but just it needs consistency and nothing. It prepares us for dealing with the real world by understanding the patients.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The profession I'm in is medical. The toughest of all. As from the starting I wished to be a doctor. The one who is second to a God. The one who is respected the most. The one who does the most prestigious job. As per the curriculum we have to study all 19 subjects in just 4.5 years plus we have to attend the clinical posting in hospital , which exposes us to real world. The posting time is the time given to students from second year till year last. Improvement can be done in passing the exam part which is 50% in each subject. It can be 40 % marks. Currently I've given my MBBS second year which was hectic because of the vast syllabus. We have total of 5.5 year course for an undergraduate degree. Out of which 4.5 years is about studies rest one year is internship in hospital. We have to study all 19 subjects in just 4.5 years. The mbbs course is very lengthy. Each and every subject is very vast. So we have to study maximum time. So all the very best those who aspire to be a great doctor
