Remarks
The alumni network is not that active. The placement cell needs to be made more active. The faculty is very good. The infrastructure can be improved so that the students can learn better. Overall the college is awesome.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is approved by North Eastern Hills University Meghalya and is adequate to complete the post graduation with a sense of achievement. The examinations are conducted in time and the results too are declared on semester basis.
Placement Experience
It is one of the good college of Shillong. The placements needs improvement and as I have seen no placements taking place a student has to search job by himself. The college does not provide any internship and overall I feel if the campus placements are conducted, it is sure that many students will get good placements.
College Events
The college celebrates cultural events for the development of the students and the encourage all the students to participate in the event. I participated in drama act conducted and enjoyed a lot. The proportion of the event is at college level.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Rs. 13250/- per year for three years is the basic fee structure, a total fees for three years is Rs. 39750/-. It is quite expensive keeping in view the infrastructure of the college and facilities provided.
Fees and Financial Aid
SC/ST/OBC, Physically Challenged and Minority students can get state sponsored scholarship. A student has to approach the office and submit the required documents so that they can be processed. No loan facility is available.
Campus Life
The labs are well equipped and provides the learning environment. The cultural events gave a lot of stage confidence to me. The students can participate in the sports events, NCC and NSS and get an idea of social work.
Hostel Facilities
The college is not providing any hostel facilities. accommodation is available near college on rental and sharing basis. You have to pay Rs. 1500 to Rs. 3000 for getting a good sharing PG Room near the college.
Alumni/Alumna
The alumni network is not that active. The seniors help and guide you in taking up various electives I got benefited by the same. One of my alumni told me about doing B.Ed Course to become a teacher in English.
Admission
You have to be a graduate for taking admission in B.A. History. The prospectus is available in the office. Students with excellent record are granted spot admission. A student has to have 45% score in the graduation.
Faculty
The faculty of the college is well experienced and they guide the students to achieve their potential. They are interested to provide the best titles that an B.A. History student should go through. All the books are available in the library.
