LLM in GMU

The university is a private Institute that will provide good facilities and infrastructure to their student. They are able to conduct useful seminars and guest talks for their students. The drawback that the university is still working on is their alumni network and placement cell.

Although the curriculum was always prone to some changes but atleast, doing my time it did not. My course was for a year and it mainly paid attention to theory component. Each semester consisted of 5 papers. The exam would not be easy to score in as the professors would give good scores only to those who gave exceptionally good answers in the exams.

No internship opportunities came my way when I was in the university. After talking to seniors, they informed me that the university has placement officer but, the university has never delivered any results.

Even though I belonged to the SC category, no reduction was made on my fees. My parents had to really struggle to pay the lumpsum amount which was around Rs. 40,000/- per annum. As the fees itself was high, I had to find ways of living outside the university where I could get a lower price accommodation with many facilities.

The university did not follow the system of having societies or clubs in the university, it would plainly have sessions with students. Some MNCs would come and have a chat with the students otherwise, sports tournaments would happen time to time. Taking no interest in sports, I would attend the sessions.

The admission procedure involves entrance exam. You need to first get hold of your bachelor's degree in which you must score not less than 45%. I belonged to the SC category that's why the percentage was lower for us. For final submission, I had to pay Rs. 500 and thereafter, give the Common Law Admission test (CLAT). While the scores needed by the university was high for general quota, for my category, the university enrolled students with a low score as well for filling the SC category.

The professors were very strict about a lot of factors such as punctuality, submission of assignments, preparing for the next lectures etc. Despite all that, as their teaching capabilities were skilled, I did not mind learning from them.
