Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is structured to make your way up from the basics. It gets tougher each year as it's supposed to, but quite manageable. My course is majorly based on practical knowledge so whenever I attend classes we have a lot of group discussions, mock interviews, debates, games, etc., which make the classes interesting. There are exams at the end of every semester.
Placement Experience
College doesn't provide any internship opportunities nor is it mandatory for students to undertake any. Since it is distance education there are no placements either. Although there are few pool drives conducted for pg students.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is very much feasible and fashioned in a way that all the kids can afford a college education. I pay yearly Rs.3,612. We have to pay the same amount every year. Since it's under the University of Mumbai, the fee is reasonable and completely worth it.
Fees and Financial Aid
There aren't many scholarships available for students pursuing distance education. Although there would be government provided scholarships for SC/ST/OBC category. Other than that I don't think there are any.
Campus Life
College does offer many facilities such as Library-cum-Media Center, an Audio-Visual Room, and a Seminar Room, Gym, etc. I don't much about the events or extracurricular activities assuming there are none because of its distance and open learning institution.
Admission
Admission procedures are pretty straightforward in IDOL. Primarily, you have to fill out the application form online which will be put up on the website. Attach the necessary documents and submit them. Make sure you remember the User ID and Password as they are important academic credentials. You will be selected based on your performance in the 10th and 12th grades.
Faculty
My department is one of the oldest language departments at the University of Mumbai. All the faculty members are highly qualified and most of them hold a Ph.D. Most of my interaction with them is through correspondence. Yet, they're really helpful.
