Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is quite good. It recognised the fact that we hardly knew much aboutlaw when we entered, and takes us from the basics to the more difficult aspects gradually. The project, electives and clinical courses that are part of the course help in supplementing our knowledge and skills. Mid-semester and end-semester examinations are held regularly, and the questions are usually quite challenging.
Placement Experience
Given that my batch was the first batch of BA LLB (hons.) to graduate, the placement scenario isn't big. An Internship and Placement Cell was formed, with the aim of inviting firms for placement. A 'Placement Week' was conducted with various recruiters. A number of firms had talks on topics such as career anf future prospects in law. There were also mock interviews and employability skills tests.
College Events
The college has an annual fest called Abhikrama that has a variety of compeitions in different fields. Events like Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Jayanti, Women's Day, International Mother Language Day and Republic Day are commemorated in the campus.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee is about 1.78 lakh rupees. It is averyhigh amount, which isn't always possible for everyone to pay. The college is still new, with constantly improvinf infrastructure but not much in way of job opportunities. Overall, then, it is quite expensive.
Campus Life
There are activities such as National Moot Court competitions, debating and elocution, sports, quizzes and so on. Students also participated in various competitions across the country related to law. There are frequent lectures and talks from esteemed individuals. The University has cells which ensure there's no discrimination based on caste or sex.
Admission
The process of admission to this course is through the CLAT entrance examination. The CLAT is the centralised examination for admission to National Law Universities (NLUs). I gave the exam and got into MNLU through the counseling process. MNLU was new back then, admitting its very first batch. I was a little apprehensive but given it is a national university, I took the chance.
Faculty
The faculty members were experienced, and they helped us understand all the topic. Their teaching style was less steeped in theory and more based on applications. They encourged us to try and find our best skills and utilise them
