Remarks
If you are looking for serious education and learning, then surely won't recommend any one to this college. You can surely consider BIT or Sankaracharya college. Good part is it is cheap and so if you have financial problems you can consider this college to get the degree and then work hard a bit to make it some good MNC.
Entrance Preview
Madhya Pradesh, MCA entrance test, scored 181 out of 300, joined this college as it's a government college and it's my home city.
Course Curriculum Overview
Whatever I remmember : 1) Computer Architecture 2) Information Technology 3) Communications 4) Discrete Mathematics 5) C 6) C++7) Microprocessor 8) Operating systems 9) Data structure 10) Artifical intelligence 11) Software Engineering 12) Statistics 13) Accounts 14) Networking.
Internships Opportunities
No stipend as far as I know. Our HOD never entertained any companies. In one of the incidences, our HOD called all of us in the office and tore down the letters from 13 companies who wanted to come and conduct campus interview. We all love our HOD for that.
Placement Experience
No placements. But our seniors were all placed in good MNC's so the networking helped many of our fellows to find a suitable job. No campus interviews.
College Events
I remember only one Youth festival which was celebrated in my 3 years of tenure there and that too MCA students were sidelined by the BTECH guys. No technical events ever, not even a seminar.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee structure was feasible. Being a government college during 2001 - 04 I used to pay around 18k per year for MCA. During those days in private colleges the fees used to be around 30K per year. But I feel it could be even cheaper as there used to 60 students in one class and only 5 teachers.
Fees and Financial Aid
Don't know of any such loans for general category students. But for SC / ST category students there was no fees (i think) or was very minimal fees. I have not availed any loans, so not sure if any Bank has tie up with the college
Campus Life
Campus life was great. We used to play cricket and spend most of the college life in the road side canteens. You will find half of the college students there only. We used to go out for dinner as a batch group on the day of results and the top 3 guys used to pay the bill.
Hostel Facilities
Have not stayed in hostel, so can't comment based on experience. But had some hostel friends and they used to get food from outside. There used to many tiffin suppliers who used to bring food to the hostel also.
Alumni/Alumna
We have a not so active facebook and whatsapp group. There is good connection between seniors and juniors. The senior - junior network really worked when people come out of college and went to metro cities to find jobs.
Exam Structure
Exams and labs were hectic and full pressure game. You can afford at max 2 backs, else you will be year back. So 1 month before the exams people stop coming to college and start buying books, gathering old question papers and exchanging important questions between the university colleges. Lab, viva used to be pressure game.
Faculty
One one faculty was good, and luckily she used to teach us C and C++ and programming. Not updated and don't have any practical experience. Our HOD use to have one subject in his hand in all semester and in the whole semester, he will come just once in the class just to tell that he is going to teach that particular subject.
