My college review

Amity University works well on a person's overall development. The management, however could be a little better for such a renowned college.

Amity University conducts separate exams of its own. These exams include basic questions of Physics, Chemistry and Maths from class 12th. Amity is one of the best colleges when it comes to personality development and career opportunities. That is the reoson why I chose Amity.

The curriculum included compulsory subjects till 4th sem and 1 elective per semester from 5th sem onwards. These subjects were basic Civil engineering subjects like Prestressed Concrete in 7th semester, Estimation and Costing in 8th semester.

There is provision for In-house training in the campus. The students who are interested in it are assigned a guide from their department. There is however, no facility for stipend.

The placement in campus is mostly in IT companies because the Training & Placement Officer has an IT background and that is where he has connections. The package offered is at par with that offered in other colleges accross India. Non-IT companies do not come for recruitment in Amity, making it difficult for students who want to do a core job.

Every event in Amity University is celebrated at a grand scale. Be it technical conferences and lectures that take place or the Amity Youth Fest, the college never lets itself down.

The fee structure of Amity University is expensive for a student having middle class family background. However, the exposure that one gets in the campus is totally worth the money that one spends.

The students who score more than 93% marks in class 12th boards are given a 100% scholarship on tution fees. While those scoring above 88% are given a 50% scholarship on tution fees.

The social life in Amity university is the best part of one's time there. An annual sports meet, 'Sangathan' takes takes place on the birthday of founder President's birthday. Technical and non-technical events keep the campus life interesting throughout the year.

The hostels of Amity University can be called one of the best hostel facilities in India. There are separete AC and non-AC hostels in campus. The mess is on daily payment basis. The food quality is non very good in comparision to the high costs.

The alumni association of Amity is still not very profound. The association lacks proper communication. The interaction with seniors while on campus is also limited due to strict Anti-Ragging rules.

The exams, even the mid semester exams were taken under strict invigilation. The teachers remained very strict during the exams and the flying squad visited the exam halls regularly.

The faculty in the college was young and talented. They hailed from good institutes. Though my experience is mainly about the Department of Civil Engineering, I know about the other departments' faculty through my friends.
