Remarks
As compared to the league of colleges in IP university, Maharaja Surajmal Institute was a front runner be it academics or extra curricular activities, management was always cooperative, warm and understanding of the student mindset and all I would say is we had a good time there.
Entrance Preview
IPU Entrance Exam was the exam one has to undergo for the bachelor level courses, I secured rank 287 pan India and chose MSI becaue it had the largest doctorate faculty and was near to my home.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum was extensive and wholesome touching every element of business and process life cycle. We got to learn alot of guiding principles which are helping me even today in the business environment.
Internships Opportunities
I managed an offline internship in Religare securities where as much I learned about the financial markets, I was also able to study and develop my study on the investment patterns. Stipend was 10, 000 which was fairly higher then my other peers in college.
Placement Experience
The placement cell did not do a great job and I had to offline look for job options. They could manage a few good banks and Insurance companies though but no fancy names came up in the list.
College Events
We had our annual college fest, the college used to host a technical fest as well which invited all college students for IT related events and other activities, Out college was also the host of preliminary selection rounds of some events in the university fest as well.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee was more than the standard Delhi Unitersity colleges which offer highly subsidized education but considering a private college and a professional course, it was feasible.
Fees and Financial Aid
I never applied for any scholarships but there were certain which were there on offer for the Economically weaker sections.
Campus Life
The extra curricular activities were decent, we had a huge play ground with sports like football, cricket, athletics. The college often organised inter/intra college debates and extempore competitions.
Hostel Facilities
I did not avail the hostel so I am not much acquainted with the hostel and the mess food but yes the pantry offered a decent number of offerings and that too not very expensive.
Alumni/Alumna
The Alumni network is literally in existent and ever since I have passed out, I have never received any communication from the college post the convocation.
Exam Structure
The exams were frequent and hence were not very tiresome. And for someone who attends the lectures frequently, the two internal exams every semester were a cakewalk.
Faculty
The faculty was warm and considerate, and made sure that lectures were not a monologue but a dialogue with open ended questions, quizzes etc which made the lectures alot more interactive.
