Entrance Preview
I didn't go through any entrance examination, the university has its own ways to shortlist students. They conduct an Interview which could be related to class XII syllabus, and also English essay writing test.I opted for this college because I wanted to go for Aerospace Engineering and in 2012 there were very few colleges for Aerospace.
Course Curriculum Overview
First year was completely Physics Chemistry and Maths along with some basic subjects of Aerospace Engineering. After that the main courses were Aerodynamics. Propulsion, Aircraft structures, Numerical Techniques, Any foreign language, Behavioral sciences. Electives: Heat Transfer, Boundary Layer Theory, Principles of Helicopter Engineering, Rockets and Missiles, some Management courses.
Internships Opportunities
None of the companies appeared for taking students for Internship, which was the fault of University Admin. We used to apply ourselves, those students who had good references through their parents or relatives used to get good internship, whereas others had to pay to do an internship outside. So, no question of stipend.
Placement Experience
In CS, IT, Electrical, Electronics and Telecommunication, Mechanical the placements were really good, but at the same time the condition was worse for Aerospace Engineering department. No placements. And when you come out of the college none of the companies are ready to take you, so apparently no job opportunities.
College Events
The biggest event in college will be Sports meet called "Sangathan". Almost entire university paticipates. Even cultural fest will be on a much bigger scale. But no technical events, no techfests.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee structure is very expensive. Current it is around 1.5 lakhs per semester for 1st and 2nd semester. and it will increase by 3% every year. And fee structure is different for different engineering branches.
Fees and Financial Aid
Students with percentages greater than 88% gets full scholarship for the first year and to avail the scholarship for the next year, that student needs to be among the top 5% of the class. They have other scholarships also for poor students if they have good academic records and also good achievements. They have tie-ups with Allahabad Bank and Oriental bank of Commerce for education loans to students.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel facilities are good. They have both AC as well as Non-AC hostels. During 2012 Hostel fee was 66000 per year for Non-AC and double of that for AC. Hostel fascility includes free Laundary Fascility. They have enough Hostels, so there won't be sca
Alumni/Alumna
I have contact with lots of college seniors and that is not because of college, that is because of my personal relations with them, College has no role to play in that. But our alumni are really helpful and since they are in some good position they also help their juniors. According to me a college should have a strong alumni network and it should keep organizing events where alumni are invited and interact with juniors and also fund for some kind of research, but Amity University doesn't have this kind of network and doesn't organize such kind of interactions.
Exam Structure
The exam schedules are generally very chilled out. You get enough time between two exams. It will be scheduled for the ntire month.
Faculty
College has a good infrastructure, but lab facilities are below standards in some of the departments. Regarding faculties, in every department 50% of the faculties will be really good, others will be below standard. But, they have Faculty to student ratio
