Remarks
The location and place of the university was the most important factor. Also heard good reviews of this university, so went for it. I really like the faculty of my department. They are very helpful. There are different programs that the department carries out. I opted for this course because I always had an interest towards psychology and I took master's because I wanted to delve more into the field and broaden my knowledge base from such experienced faculties.
Course Curriculum Overview
According to me, we were given insights into different subjects of psychology like sports psychology, cognitive psychology, biological processes and so on. They were different in different semesters. We had field visits obviously and lab work which gave a more practical view of the subject. The faculties are really good and helpful.
Internships Opportunities
Currently I am interning in an organisation. It is an internship on counseling psychology. It started from 15th August and will end on 15th September, so just for a month. This is not a stipend based internship. I am just doing this for my own experience in the respective field. And it is happening over zoom everyday.
Placement Experience
I am still in my second year of college and currently in 3rd semester. Placement happens in 4th semester so I really don't know about the companies that will come and how many students will be placed. Right now we all are specialising in our respective fields i.e clinical psychology, counseling psychology and industrial psychology. I don't know much about the placement process.
College Events
The events and activities are big. They celebrate Onam festival and Ganpati festival. It is huge and big. The college also celebrates events like marathons with energy. Students from our department as well as other departments do show a lot of participation in extra curricular activities. They are mostly energetic and like to engage in such activities. Any festival that is celebrated in the college is done with full energy.
Fees and Financial Aid
No. The college does not provide any scholarship or loan to us. As per my information, the college does not avail any kind of scholarships to it's students. Most of the times, the students only have to look out for scholarships if they want. Personally, I did not avail to any scholarship.
Campus Life
The campus infrastructure is not that appealing though. The college campus is small and there is very little place for us to hang out in the campus. There is no proper canteen too. So this is a disadvantage of the college.
Hostel Facilities
I don't stay in hostel. I stay in pg which is near to the college. I have to pay an amount of 15,000 per month to the pg. Though the area in which the pg is located, is not so good, but the pg is clean and well maintained. The food is okay and it changes everyday. We get a special meal at dinner one single day. Breakfast, lunch, evening tea and dinner is provided. Only on Sundays, we have to manage our evening tea and dinner.
