My college experience

Said everything above. Its quite college and infrastructure as well the faculty is excellent. Its just the college is not understanding.

Okay If I say about chemistry then there is no such placement facility for bachelorate students. The syllabus is perfectly fine. The exams are conducted in a well systematic manner and its an autonomous college. So it maintains that no teacher comes to know which student's paper he is checking. Rules and guidelines are followed perfectly. But there are too many other fests and things going inside the college all the time.

The placement is not good at all. In other departments as well I have heard that they dont provide any internships or placement. But in commerce department its quite good. All the good MNCs visit the college to reqruit students.

There are a list of events going in the college all the time. The main annual fest is Xavotsav. Its quite the charm of the city as well. People from all over kolkata come to visit the college. Many celebrities visit our college as well. On different ocassions, different great personalities are invited so that students can get inspired from them. Tech events are always ongoing. They take us for social work as well like to village visits and orphanages.

Fee structure is really expensive if we compare with other colleges. They chargee fees for even nonsense things which is not required. Infact they charge for arrear papers and that too such high amounts. There is no compensaiton even for very poor studnets. They don't decrease the amount for anyone no matter what.

Yes I am presently getting scholarship from INSPIRE. The organisation is really good and helpful. But college creates a lot of fuss about that. It does not easily signs the documents in which their authenciation is required. We have to visit the office regularly for like a week to get the document signed. Plus they start asking for other documents which are in our hometown and we can't easily get it at the moment.

Actually the college does not discrimates the students on any matter. They consider all genders equal. There is no partiality. But yes there is a very big flaw in the system. They give more preference to Bengalis in every matter. Infact there were students from all over India who does not understand that particular language. But then the proffessors still teach in that particular language.

No. I am presently leaving in a pg. I pay 11000 per month as a rent. It has all the basic facility of food, electricity, water, washing machine etc. The pg is not much far from college. I take about 2metros and reach the college.The rent is really high and at times it becomes difficult to pay such high amount. But the college hostel has too many restriction so I had to opt for pg.

Yes very often the faculty invites the previous batches students. They organise seminars and interactive sessions very often. This is a very good thing.

I got admission into the college because of my really good grades. I always had great interest in chemistry and wanted to more and more about the subject. After researching a lot I came to know that this college offers great knowledge in that subject and it's among top 10 college when it comes to B.Sc in chemistry. So I decided to go for this college. I filled the application and then got selected after a few days. The admission procedure was really simple. In the process they make you go through every corner of the college so you get a whole insight of the infrastructure and facilities. Although, I must say that the fee structure is really.high.

Well, the faculty is really really amazing. But still not 100% perfect. There are few professors who don't behave professionally. Plus there is a very big demerit of the college. The college thinks just about its own reputation. It can go to any extent to maintain its dignity and reputation. Infact, it can go against student's. The college is not at all understanding when it comes to student's point of view. They totally ignore our views and opinion like it doesn't matter at all.
