DYPSOE :- MY REVIEW

All in all the college is average in terms of academics. But in the terms of sports, campus life, hostel quality sanitation it fares very well. Academics in the entc department is very encouraging and helpfuland induatry centered. They even have an incubation cell and entrepreneurship cell for the industry intercation with the students but is limited only to entc and comp. The admin department is very poor. The admin department has no value for the students time and seems to accomplish tasks at its own convinience. So the admin department doea not have my vote. If a student wants to make it big through this institute it is absolutely possible but will definitely have to hustle very hard for it.

The course and curriculum is standard as per the SPPU's giuidlines, but if you consider the professionals and faculty in this college, I wouldn't give it a five star rating exactly. The students dont really get as much practical experience as they should. Focus is centred mostly on academic aspect of the eduaction. All this is however only true for the mechanical and civil branches. The entc and computer branch have a very industry specific and industry centered approach.

Placementa that are provided in campus are not very reliable. The only worthy placements are available for computer and entc students. For other departmemts there is very little engagement of core companies. Foe mech and civil branches placement cell had invited only non core companies. The procedure for placements like any other. There is tge aptitude test, group discussion and then the interview. Companies like infosys, estatemint, tech mahindra, wipro, TCS, Byjus, eleation etc have conducted placements in our college.

As far as the event go, every department celebrates the foundation day in its own unique way. No technical events are held. The annual college fest is held every year in the month of december, sports, saadi, suit, tie days are celebrated in that order. Not a lot of engagement in that area.

The fee stucture is quite feasible in thia institute. Students can also avail the scholarships and provisions provided by the government. fees can be paid in installment or all at once. Reserved category students are able to avail the benefits of government schemes. No additional amount is needed for securing admission seperately. Only admission fees and tuition fees are to be paid. Students get fee reciepts online after they have paid their fees. Fees can also be paid online on the college portal.

I opted for ebc scholarship provided by the government of maharashta. It is for economically backward students. The college notifies us when the forms come out. The form has to be filled online. The documents are verified by the college admin department. Once verified, the scholarship is provided to the students bank accounts.

Life on campus is quite nice. Sports facilities are excellent in our college. As far as dorm parties go, there are no such things happening in the college. The environment is quite liberal and open. Ragging is strictly intolerable and has very grave consequences the students are very helpful. All the facilities provided meet the standards perfectly. Most of the population is middle class. Politics is non existent in the campus. Campus is visually attractive. The gender ratio is goos in comp and entc dept but in mech and civil depts, the ratio highly favours males. As of now there are no openly lgbtq+ students on the campus.

No, I have not opted for hostel as renting a flat with friends in the vincity was much more economical than the hostel. The campus has hostel facility for boy and girls. Both boys and girl have equal bed capacities. The room system has quad sharing. The price of hostel ranges from 60000-1. 5lakh rupees per year based on facilities provided and not including food and laundry.

The seniors are very helpful and driven. The alumni, not so much. Till date, I have not had any interaction with the alumnus of the college. Seniors help us in various issues related to fees, exams events and nearly everything.

Based on my score for the Mh-Cet exam, I applied for various colleges through the DTE(Directorate of technical education) and out of those, I was allotted Dr. D Y Patil School Of Engineering, Lohegaon Pune. Since iI was allotted this college in first round itself, I checked out the reviews for thia college online, and googled all I could about this institution. I looked for the imahes of campus, accomodation facilities, tuition fees etc. And after consulting with my family, finally decided to take admission in this college.

Facutly of DYPSOE is not the best if you ask me. The lectures are conducted as per the standard university provided teaching format. The university in this case is SPPU. But again this is true only for mech and civil departments. Some of the faculty has ego issues. Only a little chunk of facilities actually care about students personal growth with respect to the changing industry.
