A review for IIM Udaipur

IIM Udaipur according to me is a no brainer for a smooth, convenient, efficient and effective program for someone with my profile. The first thing that caught my eye when it came to IIM U was the fact that they were so well organized, there were student representatives working around the clock to be actively engaging and clearing any doubt I had posted on platforms in relation to the admission process, making the entire process as smooth as possible. The next thing that caught my eye was how the college website was so well maintained, reflecting it's core values of transparency and excellence as there were audited placement reports, with timely updates. E.g.: if there was a wait list to be published at 3 pm on a Monday it was surely accessible at that point of time, whereas, waitlist of other colleges weren't accessible till probably 3-4 hrs of being published due to server traffic. IIM U is a student centric college, as student convenience are 1st priority, even in these covid times.

The course and faculty is extremely agile as in they are very proactive in adapting and updating the curriculum, pedagogy and class activities to engage and enrich the learning experience in the best way possible. Furthemore, the college believes in continuing it's learning process beyond the classroom too with functional groups that help in aiding the student's learning process through various methods in order to help with their domain specific subjects. In conclusion, IIM U's curriculum reflects the very belief of academic excellence ranking at 1.

The internship offers are offered through on campus placements with some of the corporate giants being regular party. The audited, detailed internship placement reports which are provided by the college are present on the website of the college.

The term 1 students are eligible for placements for internships. The final year students are eligible for full time jobs. The placements have both student representatives and faculty to supervise the proceedings. Adding to this, the college has student lead preparation committees and a learning , development cell to facilitate working of the placements of the students. The annual placement reports which are audited and provide exact nos. of students placed with company domains and CTC-s mentioned after being audited. On joining IIM U, the student can rest assured that they will be enjoying great opportunities of gaining a foothold in the corporate industry.

The fees structure is fair and is neither highly different from other colleges of similar rank. There is ample opportunity for financial aid for which details are mentioned on the website. There is a needs based scholarship for students with annual incomes less than or equal to 450000 and other benefits for those facing financial crises. There are also tie ups of the college with banks so that student loans for those who need it are provided in an organized and optimally subsidised amount.

There is a lot more to IIM U than it's academic rigour with it's annual fests of Solaris and Audacity which are organised by the student community itself. Books and journals are easily available with the process of lending and borrowing being digitised with time in order to make it more accessible. There are even Bloomberg terminals to facilitate student learnings. Sports and extra curricular activities are always made time for, given our diverse batch of students this is one of the chief modes of bonding together by the students. There are a number of Student Interest groups each specialising in certain functions when it comes to the college activities, making the organization and implementation of events smoother.

A component score formed by weightage to several factors like CAT score, past academic records and CAP PI and WAT processes.

The topics in the WAT was mostly based on current affairs and observed trends in the country. The topic for WAT at the time of my admission was "Given the current economy, should b-schools be more focussed toward entrepreneurs or job seekers?".
