Anonymous's Review On Yeshwantrao Chavan College Of Engineering - [YCCE], Nagpur

Back in 2014 when I had an offer from NIT (somewhere from North East India) YCCE was 3rd top most college from Nagpur. So rather going to college which is far away from my hometown my father suggested me to join this college as I would be with them. IIT was my dream and as I couldn't clear JEE advance I lost all the hopes and joined average college

Course syllabus was updated time to time but talking about industrial experience I belong to Electrical field and this particular branch need lot of industrial exposure and compared to that our college could manage to get internship from NPCL, Mahindra power plant and some more. I think college lags in industrial exposure and should be given more opportunities. Talking about faculties the 2 most favorite faculties are 1. Nagpure sir (for signals and systems and network analysis) 2. Gawande sir (for Power electronics and FACTS) I have seen them taking efforts in bringing difficult concepts to a students mind in a very relentless way. Thanks to both of them who made these subjects really interesting. In fact Nagpure sir had even taught to one of the famous alumnis of our college Mr. Sonu Sood (Bollywood actor)

Most of the companies visit here are from IT background. TCS, Infosys, Capgemini and Tech Mahindra are the regular recruiters and 30% of the batch gets placed in these companies. Other than that I have seen very less core companies visit on campus some of them were Medas Care, Adaani group, Mahindra &Mahindra, Jindal steel, torrent and Fluor Daniel etc where very few students got chance to get placed. As these companies have higher cut offs and criteria only 1 or 2% of the batch could make it till the interview rounds. Other than that most of students gets placement in KPO or BPO, customer care companies. Because of which average placement showed up to be around 3.5 LPA. That's why students choose higher studies as their options and opt themselves out from placement cell.

YCCE is known for its culture fest called YASH. It's a week long festival celebrated in the month of February starting with traditional day this cultural events goes with freshers, Bhairavi, raz mattaz, Fashionistas, Celebrity Night and many more. College also gives it's students a chance to organize various events such as in sports, technology and Arts. I myself organized one event during my 3rd year and departmental events occurs in the month of August. Where each department compete with each other showing their events are best. I have even seen college organising Hackaton in March and other technical events like Prakriti and Spandan where students can publish their research papers.

I could avail Freeship from college which exempted my tution fee from college. But I had to pay rest of the charges. If you belong to category or EWS category you can avail scolerships or freeship depending upon criteria and take advantage in exempting tuition fees which is nearly 1.27 lakhs.

Infrastructure wise college of little above the average and we have separate buildings for each department but some of the infrastructures are nearly 30+ year old which needs to be renovated. The best infrastructure any departments have are Electronics and IT department.

As I was a localite person I could never experience hostel life there. My friend who stayed in hosted once told me hostel has 3-4 sharing rooms and food is provided in the hostel surroundings. Boys hostel is near to campus area but girls hostel is in sonegaon area which is nearly 10 km away from campus.
