1. It was an institute of national importance and by far weight-age has been given to NITs, IITs and IIIT's in the country 2. Wanted to get IT field and hence was best among my available opportunities, 3. Did not want to go for a drop year.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is still outdated and the faculties also teach in old fashioned manner. Students are given assignments to complete and less focus is given to practical learning. However, Peer learning can help you a lot in the campus. The environment for competitive coding and programming is gradually increasing in the campus.
Placement Experience
My next batch has many good companies being visited such as ADOBE, Microsoft, DEShaw, Arcesium, Samsung, General Electric which have CTC of above 20 LPA and students are getting around 70-80k per month working for these. The alumni network is getting strengthened day by day and you could definitely ask for referrals from these on LinkedIn.Further, The placement dept. has a separate building n the campus and provides extremely great facilities. The team is extremely helpful in the placement process in each company and give you time to time tips as well.
College Events
The festivals are great, we have a ton of committees each for entrepreneurship, technical, sports, cultural, drama, dance, literature, and all of these are great to be a part of. The flagship cultural event is ECLECTIKA, sports event is SAMAR, Tech event as AAVARTAN, entrepreneurial event as E-SUMMIT and Musical event as SHRUTI. Apart from that all round he year small events are created and participation in each of these events is massive.
Campus Life
The campus area is around 100 acres. It has a single building for all departments and is quite huge. It has a magnificent entrance gate. Playground for basketball, football, volleyball, and cricket are available. Open courts for badminton are present. Further, the gym is not a good one and houses old machines. Hostels are not sufficient to hold the complete population. However, there are lots of PGs and houses available on rent around. For maximum girls there is hostel facility but boys have to fight hard and hostels are given to around half the population of boys on a pointer basis.
Hostel Facilities
I did avail the facility in my 1st and 2nd year. In my 1st year the hostels were really nice in infrastructure as they were recently renovated while the food was okayish. Similarly, in 2n the year the hostel-H was magnificent in infrastructure, however, the facilities lacked maintainance. The food was good on wednesdays and sundays else was not upto the mark.
