Unforgettable 4 years

College management needs to improve much more on campus recruitments. I would prefer our college to anyone on 1 condition if they think about placements.

I took CET exam after 12th and scored 22k ranking. I was interested in computers so I opted CSE branch and this college is nearby to my place so my parents wanted me to stay near to them and I had few friends and relatives who suggested this college for me. It's a small town far from metro cities and a nice place for studying.

Our university have really more no. of subjects and electives. Every semester we will be having 6 theory and 2 practicals and only in final semester we have 4 theory, 1 seminar, 1 project and no practicals. Coming to the electives we get this option only in 6th, 7th and 8th semester. It again depends on your branch or course what you have opted. In our college the electives will be chosen by the management which is suitable and good for us.

As I'm an engineering student, we don't have to do any internship so companies come to our college to recruit students for jobs not for internship. Even in final year we do projects by own or from any consultants but not in the form of internship.

We have placement and training committee where they take care of placements and campus. I have to say our placement is not that good they have to improve a lot and give more opportunities for students by getting good well known companies for placements. In our batch around 50 members got placed out of 200 students.

We will have cultural annual fest every year and we have given the name 'Anweshane'. This will be in even semesters every year for 2 days which includes ethnic hour, fun games, award for toppers, cultural events, and few other competitions like cooking, rangoli, paper presentation, debate, mehandi, etc. For this preparation starts from 1 month before itself. We also have technical fest called 'Fiesta' which will be held every year and contestants from all colleges will come to participate. Our college also organises robotics competition. We have 'Alumni Meet' every year conducted by our management.

Fee structure is reasonable. As I joined this college through CET it was costing me around 28k that's govt fee and 5k extra altogether 33k per year. If you are from management then it will be around 1.2 lac per year.

Scholarship was not offered by college but from the Karnataka govt. Based on caste and merit students get scholarships every year. Coming to loans are also offered based on the score what we have achieved in academics.

Campus life was good esp. the hostel life. I must say one has to stay in hostel to experience that life. Will learn lot of things staying in hostel far from family but if you get good company of friends you won't miss your family. Hostel parties whenever we have any friends birthday, any festival we celebrate it together without any religion, caste, gender discrimination. Now coming to the extra-curricular activities every year we have robotics competition, technical fest, sports and much more. By participating in these events one can get confidence about themselves. I had represented our college in several university sports competitions. We have labs for all departments and whenever we are free we can go to labs and can work on our projects.

Hostels were really good with each rooms in sharing basis of 3 members in all our hostel rooms. Each member wikk be given study table, cupboard/rack to keep your things, washrooms, single seperate cots with fan and light. As its hostel we have to pay hostel and mess fees altogether in one payment for a year costing around 25k per year. We also have PG's over there but no idea about that as I stayed in hostel completely for 4 years. Food was healthy, tasty and hygienic but we can't expect to be as good as home food. I would rate my hostel and mess 9 out of 10. Because now I'm staying in Bangalore in a PG and I must say I'll miss my hostel and mess food.

Every once in 2 years we have an alumni meet in our college which really helps in alumni network as well as for the recruitment process in college. Here we can make a good bonding with our seniors as well as the alumni's. The alumni who wish they give speech about jobs and how we should be prepared which helps a lot. It will be an interaction session.

Exams we had in semester basis, 2 semesters per year. We had 3 Internals and 1 external exams every semesters. And lab we were having 1 internals and 1 externals only. Exams were not frequent and for each subject we will get min. 1 day gap and lab exams will be either before or after the theory exams. So its manageable.

Each and every faculty must be having min. M.Tech post graduation to be a teaching faculty in our college. Some were really good at teaching and interacting with students where in other hand few were average. All faculties maintain their own standards.
