Remarks

The faculty at NSHM have significantly more experience in the industry, in their specific fields of work, than their counterparts at other colleges. Hands on practice with equipment in the lab is really important for media science, and this college has access to some of the best equipment in the city. The downside is the low barrier to entry when it comes to entrance exams, which means that the general student body does not create a very engaging experience in class.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

The course is very practical in nature and has more to do with hands on work experience than learning from a specific book according to a specific syllabus. The faculty to student ratio is very good owing to the smaller student body. When it comes to the quality of the faculty it is a mixed bag. Not all the faculty have great teaching methods, but they are balanced out by those who can be considered excellent teachers by any standards.

Internships Opportunities

4

Due to COVID 19, getting internships is logistically more difficult than before. However, the college does occasionally provide contacts for online internships even during this pandemic.

Placement Experience

2.5

I have not graduated yet, so i do not know about the placement opportunities in great detail. However the placement cell does offer occasional internships in the middle of the course.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees are generally taken upfront in post dated cheques. There is no discernable opportunity for scholarships. The amount of financial assistance given is negligible. There are no campus jobs, but the placement cell tries to get the students internships during the period of their course.

Campus Life

4

The annual fest Y comm is a pretty grand affair. It invites prominent guests every year and hosts a significant number of colleges for its events. The library is well stocked. The classrooms have just undergone renovations and are currently in really good shape. The college has a few clubs, but with the exception of the photography club, they remain fairly inactive throughout the year. For extra curricular however, the college has 'Aangan' which is like an afterschool program that has classes ranging from drama to music to foreign language training.

Interview Experience

4.5

There is a personal interview, but it is more of a formality than a process of elimination. No prior preparation is needed for this interview. Taking the Makaut CET is also officially a mandatory requirement, but it is also a formality as there are no strict cut off marks.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Though the bachelor of science is pursued by someone who wants to research and develop some idea to help the modern world. The primary decision was to contribute to the society like the great scientists who have done so before. The curriculum provides a balanced approach of both theoretical knowledge and practical skills, theoretical knowledge from classes, assignments, homeworks and exams. Practical knowledge through the different workshops that are held in the college auditorium or online with successful men of the field who are brought as guests in them, from renowned scientists to great thinkers we have met a lot of them.
