Manipal the place you can never forget.

Except for the fee structure everything in MIT is great. Beautiful location, modern life style, mixed culture, academics, sports, extra curriculars everything. The college managent is also good. They listen to the student requirements and make safety precautions for the students. The management keeps the student safety as the first priority which is very much required. You can expect management to be very strict in case of any wrongdoing. Ragging is not tolerated and anyone found guilty has to face very strict action from the management.

ENAT. This exam is conducted for all the engineering colleges under manipal university (MANIPAL, JAIPUR, DUBAI and SIKKIM MANIPAL).The admisdion process is very simple.Once you get a rank as per your ENAT score you are given a date for councelling were you can chhose the branch of your choice. The seat availability of every branch can also be checked on the Manipal University Website. At the time of councelling you can get in touch with faculty of different branches and ask your doubt. Once you have decided which branch you want to enroll for you can register with the concerned person. Selecting a course is your choice if you are more interested in automobiles then you can go for automobile branch, if you are a computer science person go with CS, similarly for Mechanical and other branches.

The course curriculum is updated every year more emphasis is given to make course in accordance with latest industry trends students are given opportunity to learn other subjects apart from their branch subjects as far as faculty is concerned MIT - Manipal has one of the best faculty.

Many companies come for internships. Majority of which are from IT and CS sector the stipend may vary between Rs 5000 to Rs 20000 pm depending on the company. Students from MIT Manipal are regarded as industry ready so during the internship you can expect hands on experience on the current industry requirements and the processes involved. This is a very good learning curve as by the time you graduate you have got some idea about the industry. Also the internship generally gets converted into full time job if you wish to cobtinue with the company.

MIT Manipal has a dedicated placement cell which makes sure maximum number of companies visit the campus. In general the companies count may varry betwern 60 and 85.In my 4 years at Manipal I have seen 75-90% placement of elligible students. It depends on the market situation. Almost everyone gets through with one or the other company.. However the core placements are not very great with 35-50% of the students making it into core jobs. The package varries between ?300000 pa to as high as ? 1600000 pa. Most of the companies offer between ?300000-?600000 pa. The package on the higher end is generally from CS companies. Core mechanical and Civil branches do not get more than ? 450000 pa. Major companies which visit the campus are Microsoft, Samsung R&D, Hero, Honda, Yamaha R&D, TCS, INFOSYS, WIPRO, IBM, GOOGLE, ABB, TOYOTA, TATA MOTORS, MU SIGMA, DAIMLER INDIA and many more.

Events play an important part in students life. It breaks the monotonous routine and spices up the things for better good. MIT offers plenty of events every semester. With more than 30 clubs in the campus you can expect events every weekend. The major onces which deserve explantion are 1. REVELS2. TECHTATVAREVELS is the national level cultural festival of MIT. The fest continues for 5 days comprising of different events. You can find an event of your choice. With almost 20-25 events every day during the first 4 days you can enjoy every known sport, dance, cultural events. The presence of almost 50-60 college participants spices up the events. No matter if you dont follow basketball or any othr spirt but if your team is playing you start chanting and this is something you can never forget. Last day if the fest is the big night. The no of events on this day is limited as the eye candy on this day is the perfirmance from your favourite star/ band. Every year known bollywood personalities come and perform for the crazy crowd at MIT. Dont be surprised if you see Farhan Akhtar or Kailash Kher or some other celebrity. TECHTATVA is the national level technical festival. Like REVELS the participation is very high. During this fest you can notice the crazy technical stuff. People build their own robots. Events with obstacle course for your remote controlled cars. There are many events. Many people come during this festival and impart training on different technical areas.

Well the fee structure is very expensive. It varies from course to course. It may vary between 2 lpa -2.5 lpa depending on your branch of study. In any case it is going to be heavy on your picket.

There are scholorships which are offered by MIT manipal. Some of these are AICTE scholorship, scholorship for knokani speaking students, first in branch scholorship there are others as well which I am not aware of. MIT has tie up with all major banks in India which provide student loan for the course.

Campus life is one of the best in the country. With people from all parts of the country and abroad at one place you can expect lot of fun and entertainment. As i have mentioned above there are more than 30 clubs in the college, so you can find the robo manipal for robotics, the editorial board for the college magazine, Formula manipal the automobile club, solarmobile the solar car club, LnD club for debates and many more.

Hostel and mess are world class. Hostel blocks are very modern. Rooms are more like hotel rooms. Maximun no of students in one room is 2. Depending on your requirement you can chhose between double room, double ac, single attached bath, single ac, single common bath,double common bath. There are separate blocks for girls which offer similar kind of facilities. Just like the hostels the mess is also modern. You can taste food from all parts of the country and also from other countries. The cook at the mess are well trained and in most cases the cooking is automated. Beakfast at Food Court is something you will remember all your life.

Well placed and vast alumni network. College seniors are very friendly and they dont mind helping you out. A manipalite never leaves another manipalite behind. If you need any suggestion you can directly get in touch with the seniors or the alumni. Many seniors come back as recruiters so you can discuss the offering from the company in detail and they wont mind explaining everything ( offcourse keeping the professional integrity).

With 2 Sessionls and an end semester you donot feel too worked out. The schedule of the exams are known well in advance which gives you ample time to decide how to proceed about it. Once you have figured it out you can chill out. In end semester you get minimum of 1 day gap between each subject. Because of this you do not feel stressed out as you can complete your course revision without any worry.

Faculties not only teach subjects related to the curriculum they have personality which leaves impact on every student in some way or the other professors know their subjects inside out any doubt that you have, they are always ready to help you out if need be they can help weak students after college hours.
