Remarks
Firstly I wanted to get into IIT or an NIT but as I couldn't, I wanted to get into one of the premier institutes in Hyderabad. And VCE being one of the oldest colleges with very experienced professors was the best available choice. Also our college being autonomous was a big reason for my intrest, as the curriculum is developed independently with intakes from various IITs and NITs, the curriculum is relevant to new age technology unlike the curriculums of many universities.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is good with proper mixture of age old basic and as well as interesting, relevant programs included in it. As I just completed my first year, I am not sure about the industrial exposure, since we have none up until now. But by talking to seniors I can guess that we are going to have a fair enough industrial exposure starting from our 3rd year.
Placement Experience
Many companies such as Oracle, TCS, Cognizant, Amazon, IBM have visited our college and many other core companies like L&T, Ashoka builders have also visited our placements drive.
College Events
We have one cultural fest and one tech fest per year but since none happend this year I cant give you a perspective about how well these are. But I have listened that these are one of the best college fests across Hyderabad, gaining thousands of attendees every year.
Fees and Financial Aid
Since many of the students join our college through EAMCET which is state entrance exam, almost all get scholarships ranging from 100 percent to 25 percent which is given by the government. Our college provides scholarships for economically weaker students with minimum amount of pocket money as well.
Campus Life
This is the only place our college lacks in, we have a pretty small campus across 13 acres I guess. And almost all of the area is either covered by buildings or walkways, so sports facilities are almost near to nill. Labs are well equipped. Library is big enough with lots of books and we also have access to many more e-journals. But we have no hostel facility and that is a back draw as we have no time to use all the other facilities during college hours. Wifi is available only in library.
